I know it is not racist to have a White Party, but it sounds racist. Even more it is just gross and just about the douchiest thing on earth. It also is the the most Andrew Hauptman thing on earth. (did I just write the same sentence twice?) Who wears white to a party? Just...why bother? But, as @bunge said, taking money off of the "hip, night club crowd" for charity is not such a bad thing. At the theater where my partner works, they have a huge party thrown by a local designer (it's become the biggest event of the year). Every year he has a "theme" for the party. Last year it was a White Party, but around here (population is about 94% Caucasian), it seemed a bit redundant. I did not attend.
