Seems to be a common name in Ex-Yugoslavia states. Luka Modric(Croatian), Luka Jovic(Serbian), Luka Doncic(Slovenian). All played for RM.

 

Luka Doncic's father is serbian..
He is half serbian half slovenian.

There is also Luka Cindric (croat) who won the champions league in handball 2 years ago with Vardar as a MVP.

This one will join Barcelona from this summer.

Hopefully, we will see many Spanish child born in Madrid with that name.

I meant the actual Luke SW, he definitely shat the bed in episode 8.

 

When Canales first broke out on the scene and arrived in our team his haircut and baby face led to comparisons of Luke Skywalker.

 

Love this signing, cf who's going to be in the box, moving and driving defense line crazy. Also he has some fire in him, he's going to be physically imposing in spite of his size. Really a great fit. And I think Benz having both him and Jr to link up with will make our build up much more dynamic.

 

Normally i wouldnt pay attention to such comments, but I am slightly worried since it cane from Mija. I hope something was lost in translation.

 

Nothing to worry about, he's not saying Jovic is bad. He also said this:

"I know Jovic very well, he's a goalscorer,"

"He's young and we'll have to give him a little time to adapt, but he's a player who can be very useful.

 

I think he's talking more about the pressure of performing in Madrid rather than Jovic's ability to score. Many of us here have said that the talent is very obvious, but you never know how they handle changing the club, city, culture, pressure is a 1000 times bigger in Madrid than in Frankfurt, some people can't handle that.

 

I think Benz will him a lot, Benz is a very intelligent player and he's going to try and bring those around him into the game. If Zidane gives Benzema freedom to drop deep and come wide (he already does this) with jovic centrally positioned and moving smartly in the area we're going to see a lot of link up.
