So how many Republican senators have it now?

because quorum in the senate is 51.

If McConnell was smart...he’d order Republican senators to go on lockdown until the hearing.

i dunno... Let’s call in John Edwards and find out? Dude went from Presidential candidate and Democratic darling to banished to the hinterlands because he was stooping his campaign manager, knocked her up, then bribed her and he spouse to claim it was theirs...

I was just strolling through the local news site and it looks like it actually won’t be a problem. They are going to proceed with the hearings. Since several members of the Judicial Committee are infected, they will be allowed to attend virtually. I’m assuming the rest will be required in person..

And it's pretty tame sexting, at that. Not exactly Anthony Weiner stuff.

While true. Dems tend to be hypersensitive or vulnerable to it. Republicans can easily survive it, but Dems tend to startup the circular firing squad.

    Goddammit...4 years!?

She’s gonna be the one telling everyone to moderate themselves....when we (possibly) control all three levers of government.

If I got a nickel for every time that worked out well for the Democrats, I'd owe hundreds of dollars.

In 2024... when she is going to be 91. So yes, she's 87 right now.

I said this elsewhere, but one of the things that I've been working and saving towards is that when I am 87 or 91 or whatever, should I be fortunate to make it that far, is that I'm not going to be working for a living, or whatever it is that Senators do.

I'm not even sure that I want to be working as a way to keep myself busy.

I mean, people get twitchy about a 77 year old man running against a 74 year old man for President, but we don't talk nearly enough about the people in the Senate in the year 2020 who can tell you where they were and what they were doing when they heard that Pearl Harbor was attacked.

Naral released a statement today asking to have her removed from Judiciary. More will follow. Her position will become untenable soon and Chuck knows he can't alienate those groups.

And tell us all-- how do you fell about alienating me-- because you've made a real good start at it...

    Why should I?

You don't seem to be able to give one to somebody else on your side.

It is one thing to be pissed about all this. It is quite another to go after others because they aren't pissed in exactly the same way, or aren't using the same strategems as you would to deal.

Think of Feinstein as the public face of a bloc of votes you are going to need to get a result you want, and figure how much harder it is going to be without her and those votes.

Don't be striking sparks in the powder magazine-- one of the rules of all living is "don't tempt the cosmic screw."

True, but that was about his feelings, not mine. My alienation from him is intellectual, not emotionsl.
