http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11670_5998406,00.html Arsenalisation of the Grove continues. I love this idea, as well as the fact that Gazidis really seems to care about bringing the passion of Arsenal's history back into the club. Sure, it's mostly for revenue purposes, but I'm ok with that.
The universe is unfolding as it should, although a little too slow for me.... Now for a something like this behind the goal lines http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/6458843.stm
Nice but knew this was coming. If they could only turn it back into a cozy 4-stander, now that'd be something.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the return of the clock, but trying to dub sections at the Grove the "North Bank" or "Clock End" is overkill. Those were specific and endearing to Highbury's legacy. The best way to continue that is to bring some silverware to Emirates Stadium. I doubt we'll see standing room sections return across-the-board to English football. There are too many variations in stadia and consistent treatment to make it happen. Even if they could pull off small standing sections, it would be the equivalent of a free pass for everyone in that section to stand, not a terrace-style throwback.
There was, once upon a time, a replica of that clock available for sale through Arsenal.com. Sadly I didn't get it when it was available -- maybe it will come back now!
Indeed... I have looked high and low for said clock and can't find it ANYWHERE... If anyone sees one or has any ideas, I'd love to know though
The board actually taking tradition into account? Crazy! Things are actually starting to go the fans' way. We're winning the league this year my friends.
Looks like that "Clock End 1930-2006" shirt I bought back in November is now rendered inaccurate. All the same though, well done. The clock should've been there at the opening.
