Very interesting how Lucho is being billed as a "reset" to the team as much as continuity with his predecessors. I had no idea that after retirement Lucho ran marathons, triathlons, and a grueling (insane) run across the Sahara.
So let's meet Lucho's entourage: (Not sure which one is which in this pic, except trainer Rafael Pol is on the far right. Plus, there's one guy listed below who's not in this photo.) Assistant Coach: Juan Carlos Unzué Former GK; spent 2 years as a player at Barca (98-00) with only 5 appearances (Due to Zubi). Retired 2003; eventually becaming GK coach of Barca (2005-2010). Coached 2nd Division team CD Numancia 2010/2011 (17W, 6D, 19L) placing team to 10th, then returned to Barca as GK coach. Left on June 2012 by mutual agreement (new incoming Tito staff). Assistant Coach: Joan Barbará Played one season in top flight with Sabadell, then helped Union Deportiva Salamanca (3rd division team) to promotion to the 1st division (93-98) Beloved by Salamanca fans as his quality to solve many difficult matches as a player. After retiring (03), he joined Barca as a forwards coach. Barca B Assistant Coach to Lucho during his time there as Barca B coach Scout: Roberto Moreno Studied at Universtad de Barcelona Barca scout 10/11 Worked under Lucho during his AS Roma spell (11/12) Physical Coach: Rafael Pol AS Roma fitness coach, 2011-2012 Psychologist: Joaquín Valdés Studied at the University of Oviedo Psychologist - Real Sporting de Gijón (00-05) Psychologist - Barca (08-11) Psychologist - AS Roma (11/12) Psychologist - Celta (13/14) (courtesy this guy at reddit)

I know as much as you .. I read it in a different thread yesterday , thought it was this forum but it may have been a different one . It supposedly came from a reliable source and I will try and track it down now ... It just said we were going to undermine the Champion's League Final by unveiling a World Class Forward or Centre Forward ( can't recall which ) and Zubi had been working n the deal for a few months -behind the scenes ....
My two cents: There would be more rumours, and different kinda rumours, if we'd announce a major CF deal tomorrow. Nowadays, no big deal comes "out of nowhere".
It's not really "out of nowhere" if Zubi has been working on the deal for months though .. It's probably a load of nonsense .....although didn't we "announce " the Neymar deal last year on the day of the Champion's League final ?? Found this little snippet .... Copied from another forum . "Francesc aguilar on the rumor that barcelona will announce the signing of big player this Saturday he said its a world class CF and zubi was working months ."
Well, out of nowhere as in lack of masses of rumours. Don't remember when we announced the Neymar deal, but that deal was widely rumoured to happen for ages. At this point, we don't even know what that CF is. I mean, anything could happen, but I'd be really surprised to see us announce a major deal tomorrow.
Two pre-season friendlies confirmed: Saturday August 2, away to OGC Nice Saturday August 9: away to HJK Helsinki
Hopefully with our two strongest competitors snagging the top two trophies our guys will be more determined next season . It may convince the board that we need to spend big and strengthen .
Spending big isn't the solution, it never was. They spent big, very big actually, last summer but how much did that improve the team?? What I believe is needed is to spend the right money on the right players, something I doubt this bunch of buffoons are capable of.
