Yeah, they had a great little teasing run there for a few games, but they can't string it together long enough. Wonder who goes this summer.
Okay? We do have a few who are certainly good enough but yes, we are shit, that's why we are bottom of the league and need to start thinking about what we can do next season and the future. Us being bad doesn't make up for 0 normal shots on target (only 2 total; a scorpion kick and header) in the PL as an attacker.
Will be very interesting to see how Sargent does in the league below next year. I would think Pukki would be on some hefty wages that Norwich would need to off load, so maybe Josh gets a shot at playing the 9 in the C'ship?
WEll he's 32 in March, so he'll need a bit of luck in getting another club to pick up his current wages. Then again, if Norwich don't exercise their option, his contract is up in June so we'll see how highly he's rated.
Pukki has been reliably a 20+ goal scorer in the Championship. He’s older, but they’ll roll with him if they want to fight for promotion Teams pushing for promotion need a reliable goal scorer. If they lose Pukki, they’ll need to bring in someone else. I can’t see them betting promotion on Sargent being a 20+ goal scorer
Sargent rolled his ankle in training this week and is not available for today's match: Norwich City have a number of injury concerns going into the match away at Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, but there will be a late call on Josh Sargent who rolled his ankle in training on Tuesday. The USA international was pictured in a protective boot at a school visit on Thursday, but head coach Dean Smith confirmed that he is not definitely out of the game at the weekend. https://www.canaries.co.uk/content/team-news-sargent-ruled-out-for-brighton-away
If Burnley wins today and Nor'ich loses, Sarge becomes our third officially relegated Yank of the season behind Green and Tillman.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game Dean Smith confirmed that the USA international is back into contention for a place in the matchday squad as long as he comes through training session unscathed. "Josh Sargent (ankle) is training today and if he gets through training then he will be in the squad, which will be good news," said Dean.
agreed. But I was referring to all the gosh darn injuries. Sarge was trotting on the field just fine and then was just subbed out. BAM He appeared to be walking just fine when he got off the field. There was nothing obvious from the TV broadcast. Perhaps he was running a bit, shall we say, gingerly prior to the sub but it was hard to tell. Hope he gets 100%, keeps maturing and gets on the Wright track soon.
"Normann is still out with his thigh injury, and Zimbo with his groin injury. Adam, Andrew, Kenny and Josh are all still out too."
