We don't need to go shopping. Everyone being healthy we have Martial, Rashford and Greenwood who can play that position. Do we really need a fourth?
Rashford isnt nearly as effective down the middle and Greenwood isnt ready to shoulder the weight if/when Martial gets injures. With Rashford starting left and Greenwood starting some games on the right, we DO need another option in my opinion.
If we go in for any central attacker it should be Havertz. My ultimate wishlist for the summer would be: - Sancho - Partey - Havertz - Koulibaly Obviously that will not happen, but I think it would be close to completing our squad. Address every third of the pitch with world class or soon-to-be world class talent. I find it hard to ignore Havertz' talent, despite us not needing to fill his position of the pitch. When a talent like that comes along you should secure the bag and worry about fit later on.
not sure if that is the best idea with the amount of young players we have to develop. it's a fine balance as is
Sancho, Partey, #2CB, and backup striker and we'd be ready to make the next step up IMO. Not quite on the Pool and City level but getting damn close.
can't have anyone on ignore as a mod. but i get you now. thanks i am not saying a direct competitor but Martial and Rashford are fairly sensitive to change. we know this. shoehorning Havertz in can upset the balance unless he is going to be the fabled right attacking option which i don't think he is. we also need to be careful with Greenwood to avoid the Rooney/Martial/Rashford mistakes made in the past. i don't think shoehorning is the best thing for the team right now. that is even before considering how it affects Pogba if he is around. or Brunuuu for that matter. those are my thoughts
I don't think you do just sign players at all costs just because they're on track to be world class. I don't think that works anymore. We've signed a lot of great players over the years who have utterly flopped because we took that approach. It will be interesting to see what happens over the course of his career to be honest. He's so versatile and the 10 slot is probably the most endangered position. Will he muck in enough to be in a midfield 3, or will he forever be further forward at either RW or false 9?
An odd link. Like the idea of looking at highly touted young talent. But his apparent inability to remain fit is a problem and makes him a massive gamble. In the ballpark in terms of the type of player to look at but this one in particular, best to stay away.
The MEN posted an opinion piece about how we could sweeten the Sancho deal - it essentially involves loaning them Dean Henderson. Obviously the MEN is 99% clickbait and nonsense. But I really like the sound of that. It depends how much faith Borussia have in Bürki, and given his performance against Bayern it'd be a great time to strike while the iron's hot. We just have to make sure Hendo comes back.
Burke has been garbage for a couple years now. He has this habit of hitting the ball right back into the center of the box when he does make a save. His rebound control is atrocious.
Probably anything but what you're thinking. In three days he'll announce he's joining an eSports club, a golf club, the mile high club, anything but a transfer to any side.
This. The use of the word club was very specific. Plus nobody announces a transfer like that unless he's been getting advice from that little shit Griezzman.
After his "new club in 3 days" announcement, Saul has now followed United, Pogba, Becks, and Mata on Twitter. Gotta respect his troll game. He's going all out.

while i don't reate him that much, does anyone feel any sort of way about the Werner news? we kept Ighalo for another 6 months but should we have ditched him and gone for Werner? discuss
Personally I'm not worried about losing out for Werner. He's a good player but not great and I think we've already seen close to his ceiling. He'd want to be the starter here and imo he's not better than Martial.
