The Toronto Maple Leafs have become a feeder team for the Edmonton Oilers.

I called it. Check the Cagao thread.

Sorry to see Campbell go but 5 million for 5 years is a tad too rich.

Then again, signing a broken goalie in Murray leaves me scratching my head.

BTW, even with Campbell the Oilers will still need a shit more depth if they are serious in winning a cup.

Signing Evander 'Cancer' Kane won't get you closer the the holly grail.

I'm happy. Season can start right now and i'd be pumped.

Kane will score 50 goals next season. Hyman easily 35.

Kane took a massive discount to stay. Easily rated at 8 to 9 million. We got him at 5 million for the next four years. Unbelievable.

The Oilers seem to be building something but then again like I said, they need more depth.
It's more then what the leafs are doing. I have no idea what the Leafs are doing???

Kane 50 goals! Sure, whatever you say.
Kane has and will always wear out his welcome.
Just ask the Sharks, Buffalo and so on. It's no secret. Four years at 5 million is pretty risky for a problem child, but then again it seems like the Oilers have been throwing around money like a drunken sailor. Campbell at 25, Evander at 20 and Human at 56. I guess time will tell.

On paper, the Leafs have been solid to me for quite some time. The Oilers snatch up your players for a reason. They just can't get over the hump of the 1st round. I know Tampa Bay is a good team but the Leafs should have beaten them.

I think its the media. It just messes with players there.

Burns traded, Sharks in complete shambles, but it had to be done. Next, get rid of these other bloated contracts to whoever you can offload them to. Karlsson, Vlasic, etc. Tear the whole thing down and tank for a few years.

None of that will happen because Plattner doesn't want empty seats in the league's oldest arena.

Well, it had to happen at some point. The San Jose Sharks were the most competitive team i have ever seen in my life. It was nearly two decades of them making the playoffs.

I think Burns should have stayed and Karlsson should have been traded. That guy is pylon.

On the plus side, California teams don't take long to rebuild. When you have a city like San Jose or LA, it's easy to attract free agents if you have enough cap space.

This was technically a rebuild year for LA and look what they did. Playoffs, gave us a run for our money.

Kadri needs to become a Calgary Flame.

The Battle of Alberta needs Kadri vs Kane.

Neither Campbell or Murray make me feel warm and fuzzy but Campbell weak psyche and physically weak playing a lot of games , no way you give him 5 years . Oilers will regret it two years in

It's probably a mixture of both. Leafs players might want to come to Edmonton so they can bypass the first round ;)

I think The Oilers know that the Leafs have a great analytics department, so The Oilers are always watching your players. More so than any other team.

In the Ken Holland era, Oilers fans are happy with every single player that we got from the Leafs. It's poor asset management on the Leafs part, and the Oilers are taking advantage of it.

Leafs fans were furious that they lost Campbell to the Oilers all over twitter.

Now you have a goaltending problem. That was not fun at all for us last year.

Patrick Kane being heavily linked with The Oilers.

If that guy comes here, no other team should bother playing any games. We have the cup in the bag.

This team would be too stacked.

But then again, that doesn't always work out. We could end up as the PSG of Hockey.

You can't build superstars and win the cup...this is not the NBA. I remember watching the 8th seed kings win with brute force, Avalanche won because of speed (a joy to watch)

Leafs are a weird team, can't past 1st rd in 6 years. I think the problem is the top 9 are all similar players and don't add nothing else.

Still... Sharks are the biggest (puta) chokers. Lol!

They need another Felix Potvin.... Need luck to find one.

Dubas is overrated (all analytics/stats with that guy)

Yzerman is the best gm.... He built the lightning dynasty and red wings will be better soon.

Trudeau and his white replacement globalist immigration policy will ensure there are less and less leafs fans. The boomers are dying off. Raptors seem more popular at least with the younger generation and ethnic communities.

its a really expensive sport to play.

    Welcome to Alberta, Nazem Kadri.

He picked the wrong team but the right province.

Not definite that he's of Portuguese background, but the American Shane Pinto on the Ottawa Sens has been off to a strong start to the NHL season
