i really want to see him start, but there's no reason why hendo Fab Naby Salah Mane Diaz shouldn;t rip RM a new arse-hole.....
Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has been sent home from the England Under-21 squad after testing positive for COVID-19.
crap ... https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/injury-update-oxlade-chamberlain-and-kelleher Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sustained a serious hamstring injury during Liverpool’s pre-season tour of Asia. The No.15, who does not require surgery, was forced off in the friendly win over Crystal Palace in Singapore a fortnight ago and Jürgen Klopp was asked about the severity of the issue during the second section of his pre-FA Community Shield press conference. The boss also provided an update on the condition of Caoimhin Kelleher, who picked up an injury while on international duty in June. “Yeah, Caoimh felt something after the international game and everybody, the medical department there, told him it’s fine and will be good after holiday,” Klopp said. “He came back and first training [session] felt it again. We checked it and it was not good so I think Caoimh will be another two, three weeks and then he should be fine. “With Oxlade it will take longer. It’s a serious hamstring injury and it will take longer. But it’s a hamstring, and we all hate this word, we hate the injury but anyway it happens from time to time and now Ox was the one.”
The Athletic is saying Ox is unlikely to play until October . Wow! I've done my hammy a few times over the years and it was 3-4 weeks so Ox must have really done some damage this time.
Jürgen Klopp offered an update on the fitness of Curtis Jones, Naby Keita and Ibrahima Konate following Liverpool's pre-season encounter with RC Strasbourg Alsace at Anfield on Sunday night. "Naby is ill and Curtis felt a little bit and we couldn't take any risks. We don't know exactly yet on Ibou, but it doesn't look too concerning, so I hope we caught it in the right moment." https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/ju...-jones-naby-keita-and-ibrahima-konate-fitness
We've accumulated a fair number of injuries already and the season is yet to begin. Keita , Jones , Tsimikas , Jota , Ox , Kelleher and Alisson.
I think we can safely remove Keita and Allison from that list - although removing Keita from any injury list is always going to require some concentration....
here we go .... Curtis Jones is set to miss Liverpool’s Premier League opener against Fulham this weekend after suffering a calf injury, The Athletic understands. The #LFC midfielder could be sidelined for between two to four weeks.
fukkit. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/ibrahima-konate-set-miss-start-season Ibrahima Konate is set to miss the start of the 2022-23 season after sustaining an injury during Sunday’s pre-season encounter with RC Strasbourg Alsace. The centre-back was forced from the field in the second half of the Anfield encounter having picked up a knock. Writing on social media, Konate confirmed: "Unfortunately, I have to spend some time off the pitch but it won’t be too long. "In the meantime, I will be doing my best to come back even stronger and supporting the boys."
right now it's: Jota, Konate, Ox, Jones, Kelleher, Ibou, Kostas and Keita out. plus Ramsey I guess. and Alison - who may also still be out.
Keita is back. He just hasn;t trained enough.... so, he's not available this weekend....He'll be there for game #2
The injuries are starting to pile up, but so far it is nothing to panic about. We have players who are as good if not better than all of them as replacements. Having a really strong squad means that we don’t have to rush anyone back and risk further injury.
Definitely for a midfielder who is youngish but experienced and good enough to start regularly. Who that might be is down to the scouts obviously but I've seen names like Matheus Nunes ,Florian Neuhaus and Ibrahim Sangare bandied about but I dunno enough about them. Bellingham this year would have been ideal but from what we read he's not available . Last season I felt we were one forward short until Diaz arrived and this season same thing only it's one midfielder short .
Jurgen Klopp provides update on new midfielder signing & Thiago injury | Football | Metro News Why put any credence in such speculation when people are saying Hamstring??? Even with a bad Hamstring he should be back training in a month. Or even a few weeks. Keita needs to play a bit anyway, IMO....
