Probably for the best. Those owners irritate me so much. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/west-ham-transfers-january-moyes-11484345
Hilarious. Instead of selling some of those misfiring, expensive mercenaries, they rather sell their few precious young players.
After Gold's comments recently it wouldn't surprise me if some truth. But they certainly not in any position to get big money for them yet. They clearly mad.
Interesting read. Oliver Bierhoff getting worried about England's youth success but they believe their pro-active ideas like the new academy in Frankfurt will keep them a step ahead. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ierhoff-frankfurt-2020?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
They've done such an awful job of managing Oxford's career so far that I really would be more than happy to see him move on permanently. Sad for West Ham fans though.
I remember Harry Redknapp a few years ago saying how dismayed he was when so many academy lads admitted they did not watch big televised CL games (to see how the great players go about things to help develop themselves as players). Martin Samuel on a similar theme regarding Dier: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ier-proves-ignorance-bliss-England-stars.html

The final competitive game of 2017 has just finished for our youth teams. Here is our record from the year -

FA plan puts kids' coaches (grassroots) under threat: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...lose-Trevor-Brooking-s-Skills-initiative.html
I'm no real expert as I just don't know about how good this skills training program has been? I'm guessing it's been good but maybe outdated? So if the FA are restructuring then hopefully it's to better it and let's hope they can find other opportunities for the 100 coaches in that scheme as we don't want to lose them.
It did seem a very good idea to get a wide range of interested kids some basic coaching so they could continue practising something useful at home. The keenest ones with a bit of aptitude might take it from there.

Will Hughes keeps his place in the Watford team this afternoon. I don't want to get my hopes up too much but perhaps he's turning the corner?
And he's scored: https://streamable.com/9cn0u Seems to be playing as a number 10 ahead of Doucouré and Cleverley.
Now he has an assist too. He's playing like the playmaker we always hoped he will be. Mind you, West Ham are piss poor.
Yeah, he must have done enough to keep his place for now, but it seems to me that he's still lacking a little bit of fitness and power - I haven't seen many of the bursts of dribbling that are a conspicuous part of his game when he's at his best. Here's the assist, by the way: https://imgtc.com/w/EGO3j9d
If anything holds him back it'll be his physicality. In the U21 game against Germany he just couldn't cope defensively at CM so had to swap positions with Baker IIRC where he did brilliantly... at which point Boothroyd took him off.
The doom-merchant Chris Waddle, has been complaining for some years about the quality and quantity of players coming through. Today he is claiming that dribbling is a dying art: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5098477/Dribbling-football-dying-art.html
Claude Puel brought on Hamza Choudhury for his Premier League debut with 7 minutes left for Leicester against Tottingham last night. Interesting because Leicester were 2-1 up and he also had the option of bringing on a player with over 300 appearances or a player Leicester paid 6 million for.
With Foden getting playing time for Man City's first team, I was wondering if Sancho was (in the last couple of weeks)? He moved to get first team experience.
No, but he's been in their first team squads. It's a bit of a different scenario, and it's not like if he'd stayed Sancho would be getting these same chances that Foden is. Sancho moving was best for both of them probably. He should be on the bench again this weekend.
Dortmund are essentially in crisis with a manager now almost certain to get the boot. It's understandable that he's not willing to take risks right now. The games Foden played by contrast were basically dead rubbers.
