In fairness it's true what he's saying, it is one of the main reasons he became as famous as he is. The marketability does stem a lot from looks. Our boy Robben knows all about that, barely marketed at all lol.
Oh its very true. Just look at David Beckham, one of the most overrated players ever and nobody would have paid any attention to him if women didnt find handsome. It just becomes a bit cringe when you have to toot your own horn and tell the whole world how good looking you are. I think deep down inside he might be harboring some insecurities
Daivid Beckham is a special case. He was a boring dude before he met and married that Spice Girls singer. She was painted as a silly, brainless shit popsongs singer. In fact she was the one who transformed that good looking but boring to the hilt guy into a fashion icon. She was the one who orchestrated every step of David's rise to an icon. David himself simply was too stupid to be able to do that. He still is stupid. When you want to learn how to brand someone, you should read everything about that couple from the moment they met each other. It should be a case study at economic courses.
Beckham was good at crossing the ball and set pieces; that pretty much sums up his career. Ferguson was disgusted with him in the final couple of years at ManU and could wait to get rid of him.

If his wife hadnot taken control of his future, he simply would be a mediocre player without the money he now has because of his wife's brilliant chrysalis strategy. He simply was boring as hell and not a very good player and, judging by the way he talks, not very smart either. The one smart thing he did however was marrying that woman.
