The explanation we were given is that Schmidt was exempt from having to declare for the draft, because she was an international. No, seriously. I guess the second happiest person about that decision is probably Teresa Noyola who, if this rule is applied consistently, now gets to negotiate where she wants to play. I'm sure every American college player is just thrilled about this ruling. [/sarcasm]
