Köln, Gladbbach, Duisburg, Leverkusen, Schalke, Dortmund, ...

I am not so angry at Fabian Ernst,
i am more angry at Vale and Frank Rost.

Vale told us friends a lie, that Bremen is his club, he loves it and ... .
Well Ernst left for the money, but he played fair
Frank Rost is imo the greatest twat at Schalke.
The redneck did anything to leave Bremen and
showed no respect to the club and the fans.
    But then came justice:
We became Champion without him. :p
Think he lay crying in his bed. ;)

And don't forget the words of the "immortal" Otto Rehhagel. Although, I believe he uttered these words as coach of 1. FC Kaiserslautern:

    "Geld schiesst keine tore"

    or translated........

    "Money doesn't score goals"

I don't care about Chelsea for this conversation. They don't play in the Bundesliga. And that 210M Pounds they spent before last season bought them the Premiership, but not the CL..........

I just wanted to say HI after my long absence. Life has been busy, and I was in Germany for a couple of months. While I was there, I got to go to Weser Stadion and see a game!!!! Yes, it was cold, raining, hailing, snowing, etc, but I had a great time anyway.

I just have one thing to say: I MISS MY PAUL!!!! I got a chance to talk to him while I was there. It was great to meet my hero!

Your right ... but what they are doing in the xfer market affects every first level team in Europe.

On the topic of Paul Stalteri, I hope to see him play this weekend. My team Reading have a friendly against Tottenham in which he should be involved.

Oh, it will turn on them eventually. There is a such thing as too much talent. Sooner or later, some of those egos are going to sour.

It will cost them titles. Abramowich will just buy them more talent and the cycle will start again.....

The same thing goes on at Bayern to a small extent. The thing is, Bayern doesn't have any Manchester Uniteds or Arsenals to deal with.

    And ....

In long term you can´t buy sucess this way.

You need to build structures for it.

My statements had nothing to do with whether they, or anyone else, would be successful trying to by a championship ... what my point is that when you have a team with endless pockets, they will drive up the price on world class players and that will affect every top team in Europe who has designs to buy a proven player.

Sure, i understand. What i wanted to say is, that there were always teams, who want to buy sucess and changed prices this way, this was always the case and will always be the case.
Some clubs can keep it, like Real Madrid, Milan and others,
but some clubs could only do it a short time.
Chel$ea can do it a bit longer propably, but no portmonaire is endless.

Werder has to play against FC Basel in the third qualifying round for the CL. Basel isn't a team to be sneezed at but Bremen should win this one. ;)

    09./ 10. August 2005 FC Basel 1893 - Werder Bremen
    23./ 24. August 2005 Werder Bremen - FC Basel 1893

Basel is a good opponent, we have to give everything,
if we want to have a chance.
