I saw something like this over on the French forum and thought it was a phenomenally good idea (hey our flag was inspired by theirs, why not a thread too ;) ). A thread to post pictures of some of the classic moments in Serie A. Great players, teams, shirts, stadiums, whatever comes to your mind when you think about the history of Serie A. Think back to childhood days, or dig up some stuff on a player or team you heard a lot about but are too young too remember.

If you don't know what to contribute, this thread can teach you about the history of the game in Italy (as in "hey I didn't know so-and-so ever played for this team!").

Kicking it off with two classic "10's" that made Serie A in the 1980's. What would the decade have been without them?

Cerezo, Mancini, and of course Vialli, in his pre-Juve and Chelsea days.

Lazio with a vintage kit from the early 80's (note the eagle and Seleco sponsor!).

Their opponent? Cavese, from Cava de' Tirreni (Salerno province). Believe this is a Serie B game.

The man, the legend. Gaetano Scirea. Some would argue he is the greatest Italian libero of all time.

Roberto Pruzzo, prolific Roma striker. A good look at a couple of 80's uniforms (gotta love 'em). ;)

Roberto Donadoni's Final Game of his illustrious 22 year career with Milan. It was the second to last game of the 1998/1999 season when Milan won their 16th scudetto:

Another great shot of Antognoni. Love those 80's kits.

EDIT: Note another great 80's player, Falcao, on the right.

Speaking of legends of calcio, here is a great article on Gigi Riva, perhaps the greatest Italian forward of all time.
