Jimmy Conrad was on bsithepodcast, and they asked him to rank some broadcasters, and Alexi came in last because JC said “I’m not buying what he’s selling”. It was so succinct and right on.

The Argentine coach is directing the San José Earthquakes club and has a contract until 2023.
Basically what Beckham 7 posted earlier. My link is from Argentina, Ecuadorian federation are looking at 5-6 names, including Almeyda and Alfaro (ex Boca coach). They prefer someone that has coached and understands their local league, which Almeyda does not. We'll see where it all ends up. //www.ole.com.ar/futbol-internacional/ecuador-alfaro-almeyda-seleccion_0_J4hh96ykZ.html
I didn't realize his exit option included Ecuador. I still don't think he can implement his system on a national team. I would say it took the Quakes about 3 to 5 months to get it looking good. Maybe better players can do it faster but then again better players might just be set in their ways.
This is what - the third such 'warning' we've received over the past year and a half? I'll worry about it when we get an official notification. In the meantime, these rumors are just that...
Matias is already looking towards next season, which leads me to believe this season is a write off.....but then again every season seems to be a write off season.
I'm alright with them writting this broken season off for various reasons. I still feel like this isn't a team he'd assemble. Akanyirige, Alanis, Beason, Cowell, Felipe, Haji, Jungirth, Lima, Lopez, Marcinkowski, Marie, Vako, Skahan, Thompson, Walls, Yueill Those are the only players that should make a return to the team. We are in great danger if Cowell is our main option up top... he's still a pubescent teenager, he shouldn't be starting for any professional club, and hopefully people don't have there blinders on thinking his goal is the start of his circa-96 Lassiter like scoring streak.
#Quakes74 rented three RVs yesterday and had a team retreat at a beach in Pacifica. Shea Salinas indicated that Almeyda is the “driving force” behind these team-bonding activities.— Joel Soria (@soriajoelfutbol) September 9, 2020
No Espinoza? Keep Alanis? (I thought that you had commented in a prior post that he wasn't a good fit for MAs pressing system). Not saying it's wrong, just wanted to understand your thoughts. The list above is mostly young and inexperienced. Not a problem if you are expecting to develop a team over the next 3-5 years. However, I don't want to wait that long. The problem is whether we are keeping players for MA system or other.
I think when Shea says that MA was the "driving force" behind this it just means that he was behind the wheel of one of the RV's.
Well of course keep Espinoza, but after assessing everything I've retracted a lot of the initial list I had. I don't think their's really anyone on the Quakes who are really good enough, if they are good enough for the Earthquakes, means they aren't good enough for any other team in the league is the way I see it. Guys we trade seem to do ok though, but ones we cut never seem to get picked up. Espinoza and Yuiell should be about the only 2 that we keep.
Setup to fail. ******** this. I'm tired of the constant blame on coaches and the team never invests on the field. Every coach is destined for the same thing.
Personally, I think Matias probably gets as much as he can from what he has, and he has not had much. I have no idea if he will ever get the squad of players he would really like to have as coach of the Quakes. The best scenario might be that he gets some of them. I don't mind that the remainder of this season is being written off by him in terms of necessarily winning games. There are a few promising young guys who really need to be subjected to first team pressures. Yes, it frustrates the die hard fans, but none of them are in the stands right now, so what better time to experiment? It is likely that several of the guys know their contracts are coming up and realize they will not be back, or don't want to be back, next year.
I was taught during a two year coaching degree program in college that create the style based on the players you have, not the other way around. I think that holds unless you have top flight money to buy the players you need for the style. We do not and we need to adjust. How about a half marking system? Man mark the 2/3 of the field and go zone the last 1/3? MA needs to adjust or should be fired.
Remember last year when the party line was: "Rios and Fierro need time to adjust to the system"? What will this year's dissemblance look like?
No doubt this is a sign of quit from the #Quakes74.... now on who is the better question?! Players can’t be happy either with the lack of funding etc to the roster but Almeyda has some serious questions.
