What cushions the brain inside the skull is the cerebrospinal fluid made by a tuft of specialized cells near where the brain and the spinal cord meet. It has nothing directly to do with blood circulation.
This product may seem plausible as an analog to the compression stockings that help prevent dvt. And it may lessen the impact of certain kinds of force. But is it worth wearing if it reduces your chance of injury by only, say, .5%? The research they cite does seem to validate the device's safety, so there is that. My mother-in-law was recently sold a $2k device that allegedly could cure internal nerve damage. I read the patent application for the device -- about 90 pages, half definitions of words (like "light") and the other half, copies of Amazon product descriptions -- the patent was denied. I filed a complaint with the state, not California, and they actually responded quickly and are investigating. There are occasionally (rarely) true innovations, but too often it's the old "if it seems too good to be true..."
One of the theories about Alzheimers is that the tau and beta-amyloid molecules don’t cross the brain barrier and so accumulate into tangly messed. So I personally would want as much fluid flowing around my brain as possible!
Really? I would have thought having an abnormal level of fluid in my brain would be a bad thing. I hate statements like that. Unless you understand the science and research that has been done you have no basis to decide if this thing protects your brain or not. So why ask? It's a manipulative appeal to your lack of knowledge as the reader/perspective buyer.
Fortunately, there is treatment! https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hydrocephalus/symptoms-causes/syc-20373604
Just to be clear, that was not my statement, it was a quote from the article that somebody linked to (too hard to scroll back on my ipad and see who posted it).
The Jebo situation is tough because he seems like a really good guy and I think we all wanted to see him succeed. And he ran into bad luck with that viscous Abubakar hit. But I think a move to the bench as a sub would actually be good for him. Take the pressure off - he doesn't have to be "the man". Give him some time to work back into form and then see what happens. He can be a super sub - he can help you score when you need a goal, and he helps hold the ball when you are protecting a lead (hah!!) And I think we need to sign another #9 that can start in his place.
From someone who suffered at least two concussions playing soccer, I applaud Jeremy for trying options to allow himself to continue to play while minimizing the risks.
"NEWS: Jeremy Ebobisse Selected to MLS Team of the Week" (SJEarthquakes.com - Monday, 4/11/22) GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
I'm hoping that Jeremy has recovered at least some of his mojo. He looked pretty good this last game and he looked better than he had previously in the match before. Also, I'm hoping that our other players are getting used to his style and learning how to find him better. Of course, I still think that we need to play two strikers, but that's on Almeyda, not Jeremy. Go Quakesfans!! - Mark
After a pretty bad start Ebo over the last three games has been by far the best goalscorer in MLS… Jeremy Ebobisse now leads the league in Goals with 5. He has scored all the goals in the last 3 games. He is tied with J.Ferreira, Chicharito and B. Vazquez. #Quakes74 #MLS (📸 @BennyyBlanco) #RCTID pic.twitter.com/UhpOfOQv2n— Favian Renkel (@FavianRenkel) April 16, 2022
USMNT? I keep thinking about this tweet from 2 months ago before the MLS season. It feels like for every World Cup the USMNT goes to, a #9 emerges late and no one sees it coming..- Haji Wright- Brandon Vasquez- Jeremy EbobisseAll suddenly in the conversation. I have been a n Ebobisse detractor, (mostly because it sometimes looks like he couldn't trap a bag of sand), but, I am more than thrilled to see him come into goal scoring form and live up to the expectations that was had of him. And he seems to be a genuinely nice guy.
Me too... I was ready to bench him two games ago and he scores 4 since then. While I still think benching him was the right thing to do, I'm very happy to see his confidence growing. One thing I learned yesterday is that he has a really good vertical leap.
