So, we’re agreed that Almeyda doesn’t make the most of the players he has? Plays some of them out of position? Runs a system that is easily sussed out by our opponents? Doesn’t anticipate our opponents makeing halftime adjustments?

Yeah, I want Ian Russell to be our head coach, but there are half a dozen guys holding down assistant coach jobs in MLS who would be better than Almeyda.

And Jesse needs to go too.

    Go Quakesfans!!
    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Okay fans. I like Ian a lot. But...you gotta believe that the decision makers know he's there. Why haven't they tapped him before? And whatever that reason is, why do you think it will change?

I'd guess the owners think Almeyda is pretty close to perfect. They don't need a cup. They just want watchable soccer that will bring fans who will spend too much money on beer and tchotchkes.

Only out of necessity or if Almeyda leaves in hurry will they go with Ian.

Even then I doubt Fioranelli would hire him if he is still around as he doesn’t know him nor would he care to hire him. Doyle may have hired him but those days are gone...

Tommy did look pretty good in Sacramento (4g 5a in 19 games), but did he really play much at Reno? Looks like he played in two league games for them.

I think the question would be, does Jesse respect American coaches? I haven't seen an indication that he does. He'd rather hire a dud like Stahre.

Because the decision maker happens to be a guy named Jesse Fioranelli aka Snake Oil Salesman. He has shown to be absolutely clueless when it comes to being a GM. He hasn't signed one single MLS player, why do you think he would give a domestic coach a chance?

Doyle brought in Goitom, not Leitch. And Doyle also brought in Innocent, holy crap.

Everytime I think of Innocent I thought of how unfair we are as fans to Vako. I'm pretty sure there are 10x more toxicity directed towards Vako than they are directed towards Innocent. Sometimes folks in here like to make Vako into a "diva" player, but it's Innocent who parades around in a Ferrari on Instagram during his "injured" span. And yet barely got any flack for it.

Yep, or how some guys can do no wrong. In mexico Almeyda would have been lynched for his abysmal results.

But it's just who people like and it's bull shit. Rios deserves every bit of shit he gets, so does Vega, Alanis, Fiero.

Wondolowski went from hero to get the fck off the team scored 3 goals and now it's back to he's scoring still etc.

If this is true, then your post deserves rep. I hope that this is not true, but I fear that it is. Also, if it’s true, I need another team to root for. (Not that I would give up on rooting for the Quakes, just I need a second team to root for because the Quakes will continue to suck like a Dyson.)

    Go Quakesfans!!

Barely any flak? That's not the Innocent I remember. I am not sure he had any fans. Everyone was too bewildered at the fact that he'd been signed and handed a generous contract when he couldn't or wouldn't bother to show up for the few games -- 13 in two years -- that he appeared in. He must have had a persuasive agent.

Not a surprise, right? We know Jesse doesn't really rate American or otherwise MLS / USL / American college coaches. They could have offered Ian an assistant coaching job with the Quakes - he's done it for many years, but couldn't even manage to do that, and Toronto offered him the same lateral position. I suppose it's possible the Quakes did offer him an assistant coaching job but he took Toronto anyway, possibly thinking he had a better chance to move up.

I'm afraid that when Matias leaves we're going to get Mikael Stahre 2.0 when we could have moved up Ian.

Big loss.. I'd love to know the back story... He saw a far better opportunity to get to a future head coaching position. Funny thing, both he and Javi Perez are probably better coaches than Armas at TFC.

I'm hugely disappointed he is out of the fold. He was underappreciated and deserved far better.... I wish him the very best.

I told you guys he wouldn't be with San Jose.

Once Chris Armas is fired, Ian will take the job. On the chicks facebook, Ian is off/on with in a relationship, said she's super happy about him being in Toronto, and his best friend Jon Conway is up there, and he's highly disappointed that Matias and Jesse wanted nothing to do with him this go around and wished him well in his future endeavors.

I’m highly disappointed in Matias and Jesse myself. While I knew this was a possibility, it’s still a gut punch to see.

It’s my opinion that Chris Leitch and Bruno Costa are the only ones competent in this organization now. I will invest my emotional energy supporting them and hope that they can identify and develop talent for the inevitable regime change after Jesse craters this team.

Well there’s Jared Shawlee too. We need for Jared to flex some muscle and sack JF in favor of Chris Leitch, but that won’t be until probably the end of the coming season at the very earliest.

But yeah, dark days are ahead for Quakesfans because our owner is an uncaring skinflint and our managers are idiots.

It won't happen because Jared isn't Jesse's boss--they are at the same level of the org chart.

Jared is almost the president of the club. When Fox left or got sacked, we didn’t replace him. Jared is now listed as the top administrator, but he doesn’t yet have the president title. So he probably can’t fire JF, but if he become president, then he probably can.

    Go Quakesfans!!
