Im quite happy with the team right now. I think we will be abovr averagr this year. And LAFC losing Chicho and damn near everyone else makes me even more optimistic. We however are 1 Jebo injury away from big problems

I would say that I am way more confident this year than last year, especially with a pretty new defense. Would I also prefer Marcos to Trauco and replace Nathan? Of course, but having an almost completely different defense from last year and also having Gruezo protecting the backline makes me a lot more confident than last year's defense with the man-marking system.

It will be less fun and chaotic but I think it will be a hell of a lot safer so adding that to the same offensive group as last season and that makes me pretty confident. I wouldn't mind CF depth, but it should be a place where we have that "cheap depth" because our attack is already pretty damn good I don't think there is much more to get there without spending big.

I am confident but not too confident. Because then again.......... we are the Quakes

Very true tho watch LAFC land Giroud or something. If Jebo gets injured would you put Kika in CF? Problem is that makes it to where we only have one backup forward so getting that cheap depth would be a good idea, like say landing a veteran on a cheaper contract like Ola Kamara, Abu Danladi, or even bringing Hoesen back.

I would put Kik up top, I wouldn't mind Ola Kamara, Danladi, or Hoesen as a depth piece they're cheap, we know what we get and their good stop gaps.

I think it could be a playoff team but we do need to wait and see as our mostly new backline has barely been tested in MLS if at all.

I'm also concerned that we won't score as much goals this year due to Luchi being more defensive minded.

I think our backline will win us games this year. I'm extremely happy with what we have

    Gruezo
    Truaco, Nathan, Rodrigues, Akapo
    Daniel
Keeps me inspired that we won't be leaking shit left and right. However if our offense continues to put goals in the net and we keep them out we should be alright. Nathan is 10000% our weakest guy in the back. We're also still 1-2 injures away from falling into a potential pitfall.

I hope Marie, Thompson, Judson, and Beason never touch the field.

Remember, it's always a wait and see with new acquisitions, even if they appear to be a lock to improve team. Additionally, we will have fours starters (counting Daniel rather than JT) who are new or relatively new. So, there will be sometime to get used to each other. However, I think the defense will be solid this year. So...

I think the keys will be as follows:
    • Continued improvement and contribution from Cade and Benji
    • Bench contribution
    • Ebo staying healthy and most important...
    • Monteiro
As I look at the potential lineup, we are just missing creativity in the attacking third. Monteiro has the potential and drive. Quicker, more decisive decisions by him would be a huge step.

As long as we are competitive next year and compete for a playoff spot, I will be happy. Yes, we should trying to achieve more, but it ain't going to happen this season.

Niko’s gonna help us this year with creativity in the attack. He is more attack-minded than Monteiro - more willing to take on defenders.

Imo, the attack wouldn't drop off the table if Jebo was out. I think it would initially take a dip but would stabilize and possibly be even more dynamic with Benji or Cade. Both can stretch the field with their speed...that isn't really Jebo's preferred style of play. Even with Cade's training wheels on at the 9 he would get a handful of chances just running the channels and breakaways. But Benji would get first crack at it. I'd love to see it.

I'm a broken record on Montiero...this team with Gruezo in the midfield, has the luxury of playing Nico at ACM. Nico has a knack for quickly finding the right pass, he really keeps the ball moving...He is Incisive with a capital I and Montiero is not...he dallys around. He's the only guy I'm not excited to see in the projected starting 11.

Maybe Luchi can solve the riddle that Curtain couldn't solve with Montiero. If he moves the ball and plays better than last season, I'll be a fan. If he brings that same shit from last year, I'll dog him all season.

I’m more confident this year than last, but then last year I expected a shit show. From the first game last season I knew that we were screwed.

Probably, our defense will be better this year. Our offense, I’m not so sure about. Maybe that was Jebo’s career year and he won’t be that good this year. BUT, a better tighter defense probably means more opportunities up front. So maybe our offense is better. We’ll have a better idea after a couple of games.

    Go Quakesfans!!

Main emphasis is on the second syllable, with a hint of an emphasis on the fourth. The e in the first syllable is what we called a schwa when I was in school, entirely unaccented. Second syllable rhymes with 'door.' So it's puh-JOR-ah-tiv
