Do you think your eye test is more accurate than the actual statistics?

They want Berhalter's head because of how we played in this tournament? The Bolivia game we created chances that should have been converted, most notably Pepi's two point blank misses. game should have easily been 4 or 5-0. How is Brehalter to blame for that?
The Panama game we played down a man from the 20' minute. If not for Weah's moment of idiocy we are likely taking 3 points from that game. How is Brehalter to blame for that?
We went pretty much toe to toe with Uruguay, a very good team and they score on a rebound off a save that maybe Turner could have pushed away better, and not to mention the dubious non-offside call. Again, how is Behalter to blame for that?

Now, I am not suggesting there isn't cause to dump Behalter, I just don't put the Copa 24 failure squarely on his shoulders.

Just saying what I see. I’m not trying to be "accurate" with "% or time opponent with the ball is pressed within 2 seconds". When I watch the USMNT I see a good deal of pressing, counter-pressing, and ball-winning. I don't see that as a weakness. And maybe, just maybe, our relatively low number had something to do with the fact that we played about 30% of our minutes with 10 men.

Maybe they want Berhalter's head because he's got 7 wins 1 draw and 6 losses since he was rehired? Do you think that's good?

I was at the Jamaica game in Dallas... down 1-0 with seconds left until a Jamaica own goal bailed him out... without that fluke his record is 5W 1D 7L with his most impressive win being what a friendly against #64 Ghana who are a complete disaster these days but we remember them as being decent at World Cups decades ago? Or is it beating #62 Uzbekistan? #76 Oman? #99 Trinidad who he subsequently lost to? Bolivia was the worst team at Copa America and literally can't win away from home so it can't be his only Copa America win... pretty sure they haven't won a game at any tournament in multiple decades.

Yeah, if we played clearly terribly in the tournament I could see the calls for Berhalter's head. But we played OK. To me it's more of a borderline call, and US Soccer is going to have to make it.

    1. Both the American Outlaws and Sing for 90 mentioned the Copa America 24 failure.
    2. Did you not read this part of my post? "Now, I am not suggesting there isn't cause to dump Behalter, I just don't put the Copa 24 failure squarely on his shoulders."

I didn’t realize that in the Copa America there is no overtime and they are going straight to pk’s!

Remind me: Which top 20 team have the USMNT beaten under Berhalter?

Venezuela is FIFA ranked 54th and didn't Canada score all of their 2nd goal in the tournament tonight?

FIFA rankings are meaningless and obsolete the moment they are posted.

Well the point is that Venezuela is not a top team, nowhere near Uruguay.

I also think FIFA rankings are a joke.

You have the USA is ranked #11 by FIFA and they crashed out in the group stage to Panama who is #43.

The USA doesn't deserve to be ranked so high and Panama also should not be that low.

You do know that the US played most of the Panama game a man down, right?

So, what, they are the USA!

Many teams play with a man down and they still manage a win or even draw.

They didn't even seem to have any fight in them against either Panama or Uruguay and put forth a pathetic display.

I didn't see anything from the USMNT that impressed me in their last 2 games.

    Meanwhile....

With both [IMG] and [IMG] now eliminated from the Copa América :( and with me having had no reason to watch/follow the Euros at all this year :(, I suppose that all of my soccer concentration can now solely focus on [IMG].

    GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! [IMG]
    GO USA!!! [IMG]

Ugh, another scoreless draw with penalties. All these great players, Mbappe, Ronaldo, Vinicius Jr., Messi, Kane, etc. and no one can score a goal? Heck Messi even missed his PK. Sad.

Uruguay’s Nahitan Nández was given a straight red after this dangerous challenge on Rodrygo following a VAR review.

It took him over three minutes to leave the pitch as he was arguing the referee’s decision.
