Yes, you should visit the exhibit, if only to see the range of items in the museum collection. I'm not sure which soccer items will be on display, though. I'm excited to see which ones the exhibit curator selected, though it will be a very small sampling. I have donated to History San Jose (virtually everything in my garage man cave has a duplicate already in the museum collection, and I don't hang jerseys in my garage because I don't have room). Many others have donated to the museum, including several folks on BS, as well as David Dufty Johnny Moore, Chris Dangerfield and Cade Cowell. Gary Singh's Quakes history book includes several photos attributed to History San Jose. Here's an article about the Soccer Legacy Collection I wrote for the Society of American Soccer History back in 2015: https://www.ussoccerhistory.org/preserving-and-exhibiting-bay-area-soccer-history/ David Dufty, circa 1975. His jersey is in the History San Jose collection. (Photo from wall of my garage man cave.)

Exhibit opening reception, 8/11/22. First ball ever kicked in MLS play, 4/6/96, at Spartan Stadium in San Jose, with championship rings from 2001 & 2003 (each donated by Brian Holmes).

Field to table will divert our attention from where the TEAM is on the table… I figure if there was pro/eel in US soccer the Quakes would probably be playing in the Sunday >35 league by now…
