Speaking of Kaka we've requested that he leave the Brazilian team and fly back to Madrid considering he's suspended for the next WC qualifier. I don't see why the Brazilian federation would not allow this. We need all the preperation we can get against Espanyol this weekend.

If you follow the link in his post you can get it bigger than here. Still not HQ though.

Shouldn't the thread title include something about madridistas? Or is this supposed to be a thread for all NTs?

As I'm looking at that picture of Mascherano with the captain's armband, I think that was one of the first big mistake Maradona made, switching captains. Mascherano is so not up for it yet....

LOL even Masch knows that and hence declined the captaincy the first time round, but i doubt Maradona really cares about that.

I think its a given that we mean the Madridista on International duty. The other teams thread is there for anything else.

Iker Casillas' clean sheet performance in Spain's 5-0 victory against Belgium pulled the Madridista keeper level with Andoni Zubizarreta's record of 56 shutouts with La Roja. Casillas has a chance to set the new bar at 57 during Wednesday's match against Estonia.

Of note, Casillas has only 97 caps, while Zubizarreta reached 126 during his career. The next milestone for Casillas is his 100th cap, which only Raul Gonzalez and the aforementioned Andoni Zubizarreta have managed to reach and surpass.

By the time Casillas retires or is out of the NT he'd have crushed all those records. Actually amazing when you step back and look at it. Grande Iker!

I hope he finds his form soon.

He will go down as one of the top 10 keeper ever played the game, but he will probably still be the second best keeper in Madrid's history after Ricardo Zamora.

Portugal's qualification depends soley on Sweden's results. If Portugal win this game they're still 2 points behind Sweden. Portugal have two rounds left and Sweden have to play group leaders Denmark. If Portugal can get into second place they get placed in the play off group of other second place teams. They play a home and away format in the playoff group.

portugal needs one more goal for this game although it is finishing.

FT Portugal wins thanks to a pepe goal.

Next game for portugal is Hungary and Malta.

I hope denmark beat sweden and dont do an athletico!!
