Everton Women: Women's Super League club sign Norway's Ingrid Moe Wold

Ingrid Moe Wold was a member of Norway's side which lost to England and the 2019 World Cup
Norway defender Ingrid Moe Wold is to join Everton Women on a two-year deal.

The 30-year-old right-back will move to Merseyside after her current deal at Madrid expires.

Wold joined the Spanish top-flight side in January after leaving LSK Women in her homeland but the season was halted by the coronavirus pandemic.

As well as playing at two World Cups and the 2017 European Championships, Wold won seven Norwegian League titles and five Women's Cups with LSK.

It's been known for a while that Moe was on the move, but not the destination. I know England was her preferred choice of league. Everton can be good for her. She becomes Norway's eighth player in the WSL.

I wonder what happens with Aurora Mikalsen. She left Manchester United recently. Still no new club for her.

Would love to have her in NWSL  but unfortunately wouldn't be until 2021 season.

    TOPPSERIEN 2020 – 2nd Matchday

    Kolbotn 2 – 2 Avaldsnes
    0-1 Andrea Norheim 40
1-1 Marit Bratberg Lund 50 (pen)
    1-2 Hanna Dahl 85
    2-2 Eline Hegg 90+5

Entertaining game with a strong comeback twice from Kolbotn. They are showing these necessary survival skills I wrote about in the preview presentation, and gained a valuable point to stay undefeated so far. Very good long range goal from Andrea Norheim for Avaldsnes. The young and skillful Eline Hegg, a favourite player of mine who had a fine performance, scored on what was the last touch on the ball in the game.

    KOL (4-3-3): Sævik 7 – Orgill 6, Hørte 7, Nordahl 6, B.Lund 7 – Pirisi 5 (S.Haugland -), Eckhoff 5, Holmen 5 (Pedersen -) – Fridlund 5 (Sørbo -), Klæboe 5, Hegg 8.

    AVA (4-3-3): Esson 7 – Dahl 8, Decker 6, Enlid 7, Utvik 6 – Norheim 5, Tennebø 5, Tvedten 5 (Øritzland -) – Jøsendal 6 (Sørenes 5), Thorsnes 5, Ajibade 5.

    ##########################################

    Vålerenga 2 – 0 Røa
    1-0 Ajara Njoya 31
    2-0 Dejana Stefanovic 71

The televised game on Friday night became a predictable win for Vålerenga. It wasn’t a particularly convincing performance, but certainly a step up from the Sandviken game last week. Røa had little to offer in attack, apart from one or two half chances from set-pieces, and showed again why this season is about avoiding relegation from Toppserien.

    VIF (4-4-2): Seabert 6 – B.Pedersen 6, Sigurdardottir 7, Waldus 6, Tomter 6 – Madsen 5 (Karstensen -), Stefanovic 7, Spitse 6, Ildhusøy 6 – Jensen 5, Njoya 6.

    RØA (4-4-2): Nilsen 6 – Lyshoel 5, Aabel 5, Birkeli 5, Jørgensen 4 – Holum 5, Harviken 4, Huseby 6, Fuglem 5 (Masdal -) – Terry 3 (Espås -), Fjelldal 3.

    ##########################################

    Arna Bjørnar 0 – 1 Klepp
    0-1 Nicole Stanton 58 (pen)

A deserved win for Klepp who had most of the big scoring chances, even if the winning goal came after dubious penalty call. Arna Bjørnar lost their midfield star Rikke Nygard early in the first half due to an injury, likely not long-term.

    A-B (4-3-3): Micah 7 – Takle Eide 6, Gloppen 7, Lövgren 6, Brummel 5 – Nygard - (Ervik 4), Bjelde 4, Haugland 2 (Erman -) – Jåstad 4 (Sunde -), Abrahamsen 5, Laupstad 4.

    KLE (4-2-3-1): Gay 6 – Sikora 6, Østenstad 7, T.Hansen 8, Jensen 7 – Stanton 6, Andresen 5 (Austdal -) – Rogde 5 (Skretting -), Terland 7, Bjørnsen 5 – Hayes 5.

    ##########################################

    Lyn 1 – 4 Rosenborg
    0-1 Marit Clausen 45
    0-2 Marit Clausen 47
    0-3 Julie Blakstad 51
    0-4 Julie Blakstad 53
    1-4 Camilla Linberg 64

Another game for Lyn much like the one against Avaldsnes last week. They managed to keep the opponents at bay for long stretches of the first half before the floodgates opened, and the last half hour became a formality. Some quality goals here though, from both teams. Lisa-Marie Utland benched for the second game in a row is noteworthy.

    LYN (4-5-1): Odden 3 – Bølviken 3 (Tunes -), S.Jensen 3, Bækkelund 3 (Jorde -), Olsen 3 – Foslie 3 (Haugstad 5), Palm 4 (Closs -), Hernes 3 (Tandberg 5), Søyland 4, Linberg 5 – Godø 3.

    RBK (4-2-3-1): Nøstmo 5 – Næss 6, Bragstad 5, Vårhus 6, Hofset 5 – Sørum 5 (Fornes 5), Joramo 6 (Gashi -) – Nergård 7 (Utland 4), Andreassen 7 (Døvle -), Blakstad 8 – Clausen 8 (Lein -)

    ##########################################

    LSK Kvinner 1 – 0 Sandviken
    1-0 Sophie Haug 90

LSK did what they do better than everybody else in the league. They manage to tip tight games in their favour towards the end. The big game this weekend was such a close contest, but settled in the last minute by substitute Haug knocking in a goalkeeper rebound from close range. All teams have now dropped points after two games.

    LSK (4-2-3-1): Norstrøm 5 – Røstbakken 4, Gausdal 6, Brenn 7, Woldvik 6 – Bachor 5 (Kyvåg -), Ellingsen 5 – Wilmann 6 (Dekkerhus -), Eide Lie 6, Haavi 5 – Löfwenius 5 (Haug -).

    SAN (4-4-2): Bogstad 5 – Ryland 4, Stenevik 5, Bergsvand 5, Raa 5 – Veivåg 5 (H.Jensen -), Spord 4, Naalsund 6, Hasund 6 – Cordner 5 (Veglo -), Brochmann 3.

Still early and shaking off the rust, and too soon to draw any conclusions yet. But after watching a few games am thinking the NFF may have achieved the parity it was looking for in level of play, unfortunately though that may be a result of the exit of all the top players to Europe rather than league modification and design.

There are a number of reasons why Toppserien appears to be tighter now. At the moment, I reckon there isn't a team in Toppserien better than LSK from around 2016-2017, but the depth is better now. The league is more professionalized with larger staffs. A few years ago, only LSK had "professional days". Now every club in Toppserien can afford to have at least two such days from Monday to Friday due to the investments made possible by all these sponsors and partners in Norwegian woso. I think we can already see increased general quality in skill and athleticism in Toppserien compared to 3-4 years ago.

Some clubs like Vålerenga now have a starting line-up with only full time pros. Rosenborg can already match clubs like Reading on player salaries. That's why Lisa-Marie Utland came home.

The many player exports we've seen from top clubs (especially LSK) over the last year or two have made the field tighter. Only Lyn will likely be outclassed week in, week out this season. Too bad Stabæk got relegated last season. They have now on paper the strongest ever level two team assembled in Norway (Melissa Bjånesøy, Stine Reinås etc.) and will probably win promotion again this season. They are way better than Lyn.

I'm a bit worried for our chances in the Champions League with all the rebuilding going on every year though. Worst example of course was when Avaldsnes toured Europe in CL preliminary rounds whilst battling against relegation at home.

If anyone wants to watch all the Toppserien matches... Nettavisen has a 10 weeks for 10 kroner promo on, which also gets you Direktesport who broadcast every Toppserien game. You just cancel a day or two before the 10 weeks ends and you can see a couple months for under two bucks

You need a Nettavisen aID which usually requires a Norwegian mobile number but you can contact them and make a request to use your email address instead.

After you have signed up, you can also install the Direktesport app to watch any mens or womens matches, or any other domestic sports they cover.

Avaldsnes forward Elise Thorsnes has been given a three match suspension after elbowing Kolbotn's Noor Eckhoff in the face in an off the ball incident last weekend. The foul wasn't picked up by any of the referees during the game, but after closer examination of video evidence, NFF decided to punish Thorsnes. The incident can be seen on this video after about 35 secs.

    Røa 1 – 5 LSK Kvinner
    0-1 Ina Gausdal 24
    0-2 Andrea Wilmann 45
    0-3 Emilie Haavi 61
    0-4 Andrea Wilmann 68
    1-4 Rebecka Holum 80
    1-5 Sophie Haug 85

A simple win for LSK in the end, but it didn’t look like it for the first twenty minutes or so when Røa pinned them back. Røa are in big trouble now even if they have had quite a tough start to the season with difficult fixtures. They picked up a few yellow cards for ugly fouls and yelling at the referee, so they are feeling the pressure and are not comfortable being bottom of the league. An unknown position for them. LSK showed some class in the second half for the first time this season. We had another accidental swinging arm incident in this match. Isabell Bachor had to come off with a broken nose early in the game after being KO’ed by Vilde Fjelldal.

    RØA (4-4-2): Nilsen 4 – Lyshoel 5, Aabel 6, Masdal 5, Harviken 6 – Holum 6, Huseby 5, Birkeli 5, Jørgensen 5 (Haugen -) – Terry 5, Fjelldal 5 (Espås -).

    1-0 Sofie Bjørnsen 31
    1-1 Ajara Njoya 51
    1-2 Marie Dølvik Markussen 76

A tight game which could have gone either way. Klepp best in the first half and could have scored more goals, but Vålerenga stepped up after the interval. Klepp’s Sofie Bjørnsen scored her first ever Toppserien goal. Vålerenga showed strength coming from behind and win the game at a difficult ground where they lost 5-0 last season. An important win for them mentally. Synne Jensen is still looking for her first goal though. Need to end the goal drought.

    Sandviken 1 – 1 Lyn
    0-1 Camilla Linberg 45
    1-1 Kennya Cordner 50

Lyn drew away at Sandviken! This is the shock of the weekend. Camilla Linberg scored a beautiful free-kick goal, Lyn’s only chance in the game. Sandviken kept possession, but failed to break down the Oslo club apart from when Cordner took advantage of a poor back pass and scored Sandviken’s only goal. Not enough quality on the attacking third of the field for the home team. Sandviken’s positive start with a win against Vålerenga has now been wiped out with the last minute defeat at LSK last week and now this embarrassing draw.

    SAN (4-4-2): Bogstad 5 – Ryland 5, Stenevik 6, Bergsvand 5, Sunde 4 (Hjelmhaug 5) – H.Jensen 4 (Veivåg 4), Spord 5 (Raa -), Naalsund 6, Hasund 5 – Cordner 6, Brochmann 4.

    Avaldsnes 1 – 0 Arna Bjørnar
    1-0 Rasheedat Ajibade 15

Arna Bjørnar have been involved in three tight 1-0 games this season, and unfortunately lost two of them. They are looking just as impotent in attack as I hoped they wouldn’t, and are lacking a centre-forward who can add some power and presence in the box. Avaldsnes have that in Ajibade who was the match-winner. Thorsnes was suspended for her elbow knock last Sunday. The two Australians, Clare Polkinghorne and Katrina Gorry, finally made their debuts for Avaldsnes today, having served a mandatory ten day quarantine after arrival from ”Down under”.

    AVA (4-3-3): Esson 6 – Dahl 5, Decker 5, Polkinghorne 6, Utvik 5 – Norheim 4 (Sørenes -), Gorry 7, Tvedten 6 – Enlid 4 (Østenstad -), Ajibade 6, Tennebø 4.

    Rosenborg 3 – 1 Kolbotn
    1-0 Cesilie Andreassen 26
    1-1 Synne S. Christiansen 48
    2-1 Marit Clausen 56
    3-1 Marit Clausen 81

Ingrid Engen was back home on vacation in Trondheim to see her old T-Ørn teammates beat Kolbotn. Her former Wolfsburg colleague, Kristine Minde, also made her debut for Rosenborg. The home team dominated quite heavily and deserved at least the two goal win. Rosenborg now go top of the table alongside LSK Kvinner. The 23 y/o Cesilie Andreassen has had quite an impressive start to the season in her attacking midfield role. She certainly wasn’t on my ”one to watch” list before the season. Marit Clausen on top of the scoring chart is also a surprise. She is supposed to be a temporary stand-in for Utland.

    RBK (4-2-3-1): Nøstmo 5 – Næss 6, Bragstad 5, Vårhus 6, Minde 6 – Sørum 5 (Fornes -), Joramo 6 – Nergård 5 (Utland 5), Andreassen 8 (Lein -), Blakstad 6 – Clausen 7 (Engesvik -).

A new league this year - most teams can steal points from their opponent on any given Sunday given the right alignment of the planets. Lyn is a good example.

I've seen tryouts for elite girls/women and when they cut down from 50 to 40 players, 40 to 30, etc you see the caliber of play double when you remove the 10 players who were holding the level back with unforced turnovers and bad decisions. I think the opposite is true and when you remove the top players you get a reverse effect.

I thought Kolbotn have had some good segments of play not just against RBK on the weekend but in all their matches so far. They've played Rosenborg, Avaldsnes and Klepp and come away with just a -2 goal difference.

The level of the division 1 game between Hønefoss and Asane was closer to Toppserien than I remember in the past. It will be interesting to see if any Div 1 teams can go on a Cup run this year, it's been pretty heavily Toppserien-populated in the late rounds in the past.

Yeah, Kolbotn have surprised me a great deal so far. I thought they would lose most games and square off with Lyn over two games to avoid finish tenth, but they have more to offer than I expected. I think Eline Hegg won't be staying more than this season at Sofiemyr. She is ready for bigger clubs.

Rosenborg also look considerably stronger than I predicted. Three top drawer 18 year olds in the starting line-up contribute to that. We have mentioned Bragstad and Blakstad earlier, but Emilie Joramo as a never stopping energizer bunny in midfield is a huge asset. The amount of ground she is covering is amazing. A surprising draw against LSK has been followed up by two comfortable wins against Lyn and Kolbotn, the two weakest teams in Toppserien on paper in my opinion.

I think we have to wait until six rounds are completed to see where clubs are going to establish themselves on the table; top, middle or bottom. Right now it looks like an exciting championship race with many tight games.

Yes, looking forward to six rounds in and seeing the lay of the land. It's still so early but at this rate you would think it will come down to the wire between a handful or even half-dozen teams.

Was impressed by Emilie Bragstad, she stands out for her size but her distribution is quality. I'm not sure she served up anything but sharp crisp balls flat on the deck the entire game.

LSK are weakened but one of their strengths is they will come at you with conviction for 90 minutes. If Rosenborg can stretch that kind of consistency from three games to the season, they could be the spoilers.

Vålerenga/Avaldsnes Friday night should be intense.

A bunch of Norwegians are currently playing in Sweden, which we might have an update on. Some of them have leading roles in top clubs. Damallsvenskan 2020 has now completed five matchdays.

Kopparbergs Göteborg are league leaders on 13 points with Vilde Bøe Risa now as stand-in captain in Emma Berglund's injury absence. Vilde has played all five games and also contributed with four assists from her holding midfield role.

Frida Maanum's Linköping are second, also on 13 points, but behind on goal difference. Maanum has had a very strong start to the season in midfield, and one knowledgeable woso-blogger thinks she has been the best player in the league so far. Maanum has scored two goals and also three assists. She was match-winner against Eskilstuna on Sunday with a beautifully curled shot. Synne Skinnes Hansen is injured and hasn't played a minute this season for Linköping.

A Norwegian goalkeeper doing well abroad is something rare, but Guro Pettersen has had a fine start at Piteå. A Northern girl by heart, she probably enjoys life up there. Piteå are currently unbeaten in fifth place, two points behind the leaders. Pettersen has only conceded five goals.

Lena Soleng Hansen has started every game in defence for Uppsala in sixth place. It's the first season abroad for the 25 year-old former Klepp player.

Therese Åsland is also in her first season abroad. She plays attacking midfielder for Kristianstad, currently in seventh place. She has started every game and has scored one goal and has one assist so far.

Elise Stenevik has had a tougher start at Eskilstuna in eighth place. She has been a regular starter in defence, but was sent off early in the game against Kristianstad when Eskilstuna lost 3-2 a week ago.

Another newbie abroad, Camilla Huseby, has started every game for Djurgården in ninth place. She is doing a bit better than her twin sister Linn, who is rock bottom at Røa in Toppserien.

Patrik Hansson sacked as Sandviken coach after only three rounds.

By "mutual consent" is the explanation, but there has to be something more behind it. Assistant coach Thomas Lyngbø will succeed him in a temporary care-taker role.

Vålerenga weathered a good Avaldsnes start and took all the points in the 89th minute. It was a fairly competitive and enjoyable game and the stats were even but Vålerenga created more consistency and danger in the attack and were deserving. A huge late goal in their medal hunt.

Vålerenga were a bit fortunate to get a defensive error, giving Njoya Ajara the chance to score the winner (underhit backpass by Polkinghorne).

Ajibade made it 1-0 for Avaldsnes with a header after 5' - Ajibade's 3rd goal this season? Last time I saw her play a match was at the last World Cup with Nigeria.
Her positional play was really good yesterday, a few wayward shots tho.

How many goals has she already scored in this season? 3?

I guess Ayara Njoya, if she finds continuity in her performance, can be the key-player giving Vålerenga the edge fot the title.

Yes, third goal yesterday. She has become an impact player so far this season in these tight games. She was benched in the season opener against Sandviken, but has since been very important.

    TOPPSERIEN 2020 – 4th Matchday

    Vålerenga 2 – 1 Avaldsnes
    0-1 Rasheedat Ajibade 5
    1-1 Ingibjörg Sigurdardottir 69
    2-1 Ajara Njoya 89

Another hard fought win for Vålerenga after coming from behind. Avaldsnes looked very strong in the first half and made Vålerenga run after the ball most of the time. In addition to the opening headed goal from Ajibade, Avaldsnes also hit the crossbar with a shot from Hanna Dahl. Vålerenga coach Jack Majgaard Jensen benched Synne Jensen from start, but she made a big difference when coming on after the interval, even if she wasn’t directly involved in the goals. Njoya took advantage of a bad back-pass from Polkinghorne to score the winner a minute from time.

    VIF (4-3-3): Seabert 4 – B.Pedersen 5, Sigurdardottir 7, Waldus 6, Tomter 5 – H.Hansen 5, Stefanovic 4 (Jensen 6), Spitse 6 – Ildhusøy 6, Njoya 7 (Karstensen -), Madsen 5.

    AVA (4-3-3): Esson 4 – Dahl 6, Decker 4, Polkinghorne 4, Utvik 5 – Norheim 5 (Jøsendal 5), Gorry 5, Tvedten 6 – Enlid 5, Ajibade 6, Tennebø 5 (Svandal -).

    Røa 2 – 3 Sandviken
    0-1 Maria Brochmann 22
    0-2 Lisa Naalsund 28 (pen)
    1-2 Linn Huseby 36 (pen)
    2-2 Linn Huseby 81 (pen)
    2-3 Maria Brochmann 85

Sandviken were more superior than the scoreline suggests, and their championship race is back on track. Røa came from two goals down to equalize after winning two (questionable) penalties. Maria Brochmann’s deserved winner was a very fine teamwork goal involving several players. This was Sandviken’s first game since sacking coach Patrik Hansson in the midweek. Based on rumours, he had to leave because a united squad of players were displeased with his methods and style of play. Røa are still bottom on zero points, and face fellow strugglers Kolbotn in a very important match next week.

    RØA (4-4-2): Nilsen 5 – Lyshoel 3, Aabel 5, Birkeli 6, Harviken 5 – Holum 6, Huseby 6, Jørgensen 4, Fuglem 5 (Masdal -) – Terry 4 (Fjelldal 5), Espås 4 (Haugen).

    SAN (4-4-2): Bogstad 5 – Ryland 6, Stenevik 5, Bergsvand 5, Raa 5 (Hjelmhaug -) – Veivåg 6 (H.Jensen -), Spord 5, Naalsund 8, Hasund 6 (Sunde -) – Cordner 7 (Grøndal -), Brochmann 8.

    Lyn 1 – 0 Kolbotn
    1-0 Camilla Linberg 53 (pen)
    SO: Emilie Bølviken (Lyn) 90+2

Based on reports, this was the worst game of the season so far between the two clubs most people have predicted will be the contenders for relegation. Lyn parked the bus and wasted time, but Kolbotn didn’t have enough quality to punish them. Linberg’s penalty goal made the difference on the day, and her skillful move (experts call it a rainbow trick) which won Lyn the penalty, was the only impressive moment in the match. Kolbotn arguably had a good goal disallowed in the 95th minute which could have earned them another late draw, but it was an afternoon of frustration for the guests. Bølviken was sent off for time-wasting (second yellow), the first red card in Toppserien this season.

    LYN (4-5-1): Odden 8 – Bølviken 5, S.Jensen 7, Closs 5, Olsen 6 – Palm 5 (Bækkelund -), Hernes 5 (Foslie 5), Tandberg 6 (Aahjem 6), Søyland 5 (Tunes -), Godø 6 – Linberg 6 (Haugstad –).

    Arna Bjørnar 1 – 2 Rosenborg
    0-1 Marit Clausen 49
    1-1 Meryll Abrahamsen 74
    1-2 Lisa-Marie Utland 90+5

Probably the most entertaining match this week with good quality action and chances at both ends, with a slight edge in Rosenborg’s favour especially in the first half. Lisa-Marie Utland came off the bench to become match-winner five minutes into injury time - quite fitting to how the season has been for both these teams. Margins go against Arna Bjørnar at the moment, and Rosenborg are in the flow. At 1-1, Thea Bjelde had an effort against the inside of the post, then bounced off goalkeeper Nøstmo and out. Arna Bjørnar suffered a long term injury on Karoline Haugland last week, and have now signed Bosnian international Marija Aleksic, an attacking midfielder. I suppose A-B’s search for a new centre-forward is intensified also.

    A-B (4-3-3): Micah 7 – Laupstad 4 (Jåstad -), Gloppen 5, Lövgren 5, Erman 4 – Nygard 6, Bjelde 5, Brummel 5 – Abrahamsen 6, Rijsdijk 3 (Sunde 5), Ervik 4.

    1-0 Sophie Haug 18
    2-0 Mimmi Löfwenius 40
    3-0 Mimmi Löfwenius 51

Another solid win for LSK who seem to get into the groove again, and will be the team to stop this season after all. (If anyone had doubts about that..). Sophie Haug is blossoming again, both as goalscorer and provider today. The Swede Löfwenius, now in her second spell at LSK, scored two goals. She is a mother of two and had a low profile season at Lyn in 2018 before giving birth to her second child in 2019. Now at 26, Löfwenius is reviving her career again at LSK as first choice striker. Disappointing performance from Klepp. They are missing Tameka Yallop up front who is in New Zealand as her wife is giving birth.

    LSK (4-4-2): Norstrøm 5 – Dahlström 4 (Dekkerhus -), Gausdal 5, Brenn 5 (Egenes -), Woldvik 6 – Wilmann 6, Eide Lie 5, Ellingsen 5 (Vanhaevermaet -), Haavi 7 – Haug 6 (Røstbakken -), Löfwenius 7 (Authen -).

    Arna Bjørnar 0 – 3 Vålerenga
    0-1 Ajara Njoya 11
    0-2 Ajara Njoya 74
    0-3 Rikke Madsen 86

Finally a convincing win by Vålerenga, even if it was against an Arna Bjørnar team in a minor crisis. Danish international winger Rikke Madsen has been a bit in the shadows so far this season, but was the stand-out player in Bergen on Saturday. She set up the first goal for Ajara Njoya and scored Vålerenga’s third herself, which put the game beyond A-B. Njoya is now joint top scorer in the league on five goals. Arna Bjørnar have four consecutive defeats now, and their problems in attack don’t seem to disappear any time soon.

    A-B (4-3-3): Micah 5 – Brummel 5, Gloppen 4, Lövgren 5, Erman 3 – Nygard 5, Bjelde 5, Sunde 3 (Rijsdijk 5) – Laupstad 4 (Ervik -), Abrahamsen (Altermark -), Jåstad (Takle Eide -).

1-0 Marit Bratberg Lund 6 (pen)
    1-1 Katrine Jørgensen 70 (pen)
    2-1 Julie Hoff Klæboe 89

If there is one team in deeper problems than Arna Bjørnar, it’s the old power house Røa who have now lost all five games since the start of the season. Coach Geir Nordby celebrated his 600th official game in charge of Røa on Saturday, but his players were not able to give him a win on the day. Another bitter defeat against a rival at the bottom was inflicted on them. Julie Klæboe dealt the blow with a long range strike a minute from time to give Kolbotn some breathing space above the relegation zone.

    2-0 Hedda Foslie 54
    2-1 Justine Vanhaevermaet 76
    2-2 Sophie Haug 77
    2-3 Emilie Haavi 86

Most people thought this match was going to be a walk in the park for LSK, so eyebrows were raised when Lyn went two goals up early in the second half. Still, you knew Lyn were going to push the self-destruction button sooner or later and let LSK back into the game. Which of course happened. The two-goal lead was wiped out in a minute. Sophie Haug’s equalizer straight after kick-off, was enabled by two awful consecutive mistakes by a defender and goalkeeper. Emilie Haavi then gave LSK the lead. Lyn had an effort against the crossbar in injury-time which could have earned them a draw.

    LYN (4-5-1): Odden 4 – Tunes 5, S.Jensen 5, Closs 4, Olsen 4 – Palm 4 (Bækkelund -), Hernes 5 (Foslie 6), Tandberg 4 (Aahjem 4) (Bakke -), Søyland 5, Linberg (Haugstad -) – Godø 6.

    Rosenborg 1 – 1 Klepp
    0-1 Isabella Hayes 80
    1-1 Sara Fornes 88

Highly entertaining and passionate game at Koteng Arena. Rosenborg continue to fight until the very end and kept their unbeaten run intact. This was a closely fought contest with chances at both ends and the draw was a fair result. Substitute Isabella Hayes, a late English summer signing from Amazon Grimstad in the lower leagues, scored her first Toppserien goal for Klepp. Rosenborg’s goal was also scored by a sub, Sara Fornes steering home a Kristine Minde cross.

    1-3 Kennya Cordner 78

After a sloppy start, Sandviken showed they were clearly the better team in the televised game today, and keep up well with the front runners on the table with three points at Avaldsnes. Sandviken’s assistant coach Thomas Lyngbø has done well since the sacking of head coach Patrik Hansson, and has now hinted he would like to have the job on permanent basis. The board will consider his future next week. Avaldsnes missed Elise Thorsnes up front, who will be back in the next game after finishing her three game suspension today.

Well, Madsen had a superlative performance with assist + goal, but Ajara Njoya is a veritable force of nature: she scores as if nothing could stop her. I had called her Vålerenga's key-player and now she leads the top scorer rankings.

Also, I liked the celebration of the first goal, when she randomly kissed that ball behind the goal: she made it look natural.

What about Madesn's celebration instead? Does she always do that flip? Not properly Kerr-like, but very very close!

This was the most funny part of your reports. :giggle: Poor Lyn!
