I drove from Taos to Santa Fe during the pandemic. We took a route that was just amazing. Such incredible scenery. At one point we were on the top of a mountain looking down at the top of a mountain.
Seriously, why don’t democrats like RFK Jr.? Fox’s transparent RFK promotion is crowding out its coverage of Trump’s GOP challengers. Kennedy has more weekday appearances than DeSantis and is getting name-checked more frequently than Pence, per MMFA data https://t.co/65UP776INb— Matthew Gertz (@MattGertz) July 24, 2023
https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/g...ongress-edition.2113518/page-75#post-39983087 I have mentioned this before but going back to Lexington, Ky (a population of 330K +/-) people are surprised my morning routine isn't a rendition of Grand Theft Auto.
Those guys are really going to die on this hill, aren't they? This level of fakery is truly for the ages!
Nah, they’re going up another one so it’s two: Greg Gutfeld downplayed the horrors of the Holocaust by paraphrasing Viktor Frankl. "Jews survived by being useful." Gutfeld leaves out that millions died in concentration camps the day they got off the trains. Gutfeld said this to his Jewish co-worker Jessica Tarlov. pic.twitter.com/tSsrLW6nJe— Decoding Fox News (@DecodingFoxNews) July 24, 2023
I lived in Chicago in the 90s. I have downstate relatives who, to this day, can't believe I never took a single bullet. To be fair, the 9:00 WGN newscast probably helped give them that idea.
When I was in high school in Galesburg, I was changing clothes before or after gym class. On the other side of my row of lockers, a handful of guys who were bussed in from Wataga talking about how tough they were. And the part that made me fall over laughing: "those n-words from Chicago don't come down here to mess with us!" Of course, if they were true tough guys, tjey would have kicked my ass for laughing at them. Laughing so hard, in fact, I couldn't begin to explain how Wataga, not being on Galesburg's radar in any meaningful way, isn't going to be known in Chicago.
They sound like some of the guys in my high school, who hung out in a bully gang. Don't try to sit at their lunch table. Then one day one of their cousins from Oakland came down and crashed our school, accompanied by some of his buddies. They sat right down at the privileged table. Our tough guys didn't say boo. Ain't nobody messing with Oakland brothers.
Fox News advertising (not that I would know) is said to consist mostly of gold investment plans. These are horrible scams that get people two ways: First, you buy coins, not gold, so there is a tremendous markup. Second, they charge 33% commission. 33%!!!! One victim said he "thought Fox wouldn't take a commercial like that unless it was legitimate". https://finance.yahoo.com/news/wing-news-powers-gold-ira-123800659.html
When you lose Rove, you're in trouble.... “This guy’s a nut!” Karl Rove outlines on whiteboards what a crackpot Robert F. Kennedy Jr is. (Video: Fox News) pic.twitter.com/ghcGonFWPD— Mike Sington (@MikeSington) July 27, 2023 Or not, after all RFK Jr. is a Democrat, right?
QFK said on a HANNITY EXCLUSIVE! that "we're probably at our most divided since the Civil War" and friggin Hannity with a moment of clarity says "well, the 60s were pretty divided too" QFK - "well yeah that's true" You know, the 5 year stretch where your dad, uncle, MLK & Malcolm X were politically assassinated and civil rights workers were being beaten & murdered and that unpopular war that kept dragging on.
Don’t get too excited about winning! Q2 GDP stronger than expected: The U.S. economy expanded at a 2.4% annual rate in the second quarter, following a 2% gain in the first quarter.Fox Business' Cheryl Casone: “Talk about a strong economy — there goes that recession talk, right?” pic.twitter.com/R6teYebe4q— The Recount (@therecount) July 27, 2023

The NYT Magazine carried a story about a high school boy who raped a girl in the handicapped stall of the girl's HS bathroom. Fox and the right-wing media turned the crime into a blaring indictment of left wingers letting transexuals into bathrooms, who would then jump your daughters. Pure KKK material, just swap "lustful ************s" for "transexual predators." Ummm - 1) The boy was not a transexual. 2) He was not permitted into the girls' bathroom, he snuck in there. 3) He did no surprise the girl, it was an arranged meeting. 4) The two knew each other well He then did rape her; the kid is a sexual predator. But that's an entirely different version of the crime than was reported, isn't it?
I edited that bit out of my original note, so I could stay on point. But perhaps I should have left it in. What I was really trying to get at is - 1) The NYT, Rolling Stone, NPR, etc. are fiercely criticized for their mistakes, or even for their perceived mistakes. 2) The people who do that don't hold the right-wing press to even remotely similar standards. 3) And then we hear about how "both sides" have biased media and inaccurate reporting. Bullshit. I mean, yes, the mainstream media sometimes is wrong. Yeah OK. But that misses the central point -- the alternatives to the allegedly bad mainstream media are wrong about 100x more often. Honestly, most of the alternatives don't even try. They're just selling, selling, selling.
He just played a lawyer on a Tv show…. He advised them to fight it all the way, and it cost them bigly. https://t.co/eLJ82kXsLH— jordy (@meidasjordy) August 12, 2023
Since I hate HR depts, I'd love to read an expose on just how Fox News' HR dept works. Like is there a giant kitty for the expected sexual assault allegations that happen on a yearly basis? Do pretty young interns sign NDAs upon hire? Do they even run background checks on the rapey dudes? I'm fascinated by how that place runs.
