How do you y'all feel about using these on Sunday lol,
Didn't think there was so much superstition surrounding them.

Wish they played in the home jerseys, but oh well. We lost to Germany in our away jerseys in 1990, but we also lost to Germany most recently wearing our home kit. Maybe the reversal in uniforms will mean a 4-0 win for Argentina ;). Does anyone know how these decisions are made? What teams wear the home or away jersey?

We most recently beat them with the away kit in a friendly....fingers crossed

So I did some Wikipedia research and there have been 6 occasions before this one where a team was forced to use the away jersey. Out of these 6 occasions only two adorning the away kits came away victors, Brazil '58 and Spain '10. Maybe this has something to do with the superstition?

I like the navy blue Argentina kits.

England won the World Cup 1966 in their red jerseys (white is their home, germany wore the white in that game)

so right off the bat you have 3 winners who wore away kits.. (Spain 10, Eng 66, Brazil 58)

losers with away kits: France 2006, Argentina 1990, Germany 1986

so going back to 1966, its basically 3/3

England was the host nation in 1966. I think red was their home kit back then

no it wasn't, they wore their white kit in every other match that tournament

for example in the semi final they played Portugal (Red jersey obv) and England wore their white

Oh wow. That's really odd for the home nation to voluntarily wear their away kits?

In 1966 there was a coin toss to decide who would wear their home kit. England lost the toss and therefore wore their red away kit.

Man, the away kits look good! They have gold lettering and numbering, fit for a champ
