You are absolutely correct. The one thing technology hasn't been able to handle is the multi-use nature of US stadiums, particularly for things that require covering the playing surface.
Still working on the transitions from one Hyperlapse clip to another but here is the landscaping team hard at work at the St. David's Performance Center this morning! #Listo #Verde #LosVerdes #AustinFC 😍 pic.twitter.com/A5S5sFUoWj— Paco Saavedra (@pacosaavedra11) October 2, 2020 Flyover of St. David's Performance Center this morning.
New, aerial rendering of Crew Stadium. Which I only share since there's been some discussion about what the black material will look like, and there haven't been any overhead renderings released before that are as clear as this. Note, in the foreground, you see outlined some of the developments that are part of the larger, associated Confluence Village mixed-use development project. In the background you can see Huntington Park (AAA baseball venue), and Nationwide Arena (home of the NHL Blue Jackets).
It's our new mixed use greenhouse development. First stadium in the league with a next door orangerie.

Not mine, but here's some.... https://www.workinthemorning.com/MLS4TheLou-Stadium-Construction/n-3Dv3nj
I haven't been by the site in a couple of weeks. I asked in one of the sportswriters chats if any progress had been made with it. He had not heard of any progress.
also not mine... Busy Monday, what a lovely day to build a stadium! @Schlafly Tap Room towards the @MLS4theLou #fútbòl #calcio #soccer stadium. @StLouligans @SoccerSTL #thebeautifulgame #MLS4THELOU #stlCITYsc #OurCITYOurSpirit pic.twitter.com/ZlcMin0VXi— Stephen Hale (@schlaflybrewer) October 5, 2020 Parking lot is still there.
Still enjoying these weekly stadium updates from Nashville SC... https://www.nashvillesc.com/post/2020/08/14/weekly-stadium-update-august-13 ...and I'm still crossing my fingers Sacramento gets an MLS team - how 'bout you!?
Whatever St Louis is waiting for with that parking lot, it sure isn’t slowing down the rest of the site. Maybe there is a contractual hand over date down the road? Is there any webcam for St Louis or Nashville?
On the parking lot, from what i know/read/heard, the parking lot owner is refusing to sell. Just recently the MLS group has acquired a block of property north east of the stadium, and have applied for demo permits. They have said it is for "temporary parking", speculation is a property swap. Eminent domain has also been mentioned in the past. Stadium construction cams (STL): None that I am aware of.
FYI if you haven't seen them... Cincy put up a slew of aerial pix taken recently... https://www.westendstadium.com/cons...in_dropdown&utm_campaign=construction_updates ... and those angles reveal what are probably midfield entrances, so maybe players won't have to step over fans like Bugs Bunny to take the field. (shrug)
Sounds like good news, from yesterdays sportswriter chat... Q: There is still a parking lot in the middle of the MLS stadium construction site footprint. Is that going to be a problem? A: An agreement between the ownership group and the co-owners of the parking lot has been reached, and it's going to be a problem solved without the use of eminent domain. Last month, P-D colleague Jacob Barker had the story about the ownership group tearing down a row of buildings for a temporary surface lot that will eventually be built into a parking structure. Part of the reason for that is the agreement that was struck to get the lot removed that was at the stadium site.
Forest Green Rovers did a Boaty McBoatface using an internet poll to name their stadium. Their owners are vegans who wanted to promote a healthier planet.
Sacramento to host 2024 Mens and 2025 Womens College Cups. I guess that means they're actually gonna have to officially break ground on this sucker. Eventually.
