Yeah, then we can look back at ourselves and wonder why we posted 933+ times about Jozy making the roster for match vs. Espanyol.
News, everybody! The squad for the Cup game tomorrow is released, and Rossi and Jozy are the only true forwards on it. Marco Ruben has sustained an injury and is out 10-15 days. http://www.villarrealcf.es/principa...cia=10814&idseccion=7&idmenu=90&idsubmenu=125 Porteros: Juan Carlos y Xavi Oliva. Defensas: Mario, Kiko, Gonzalo, Catalá, Joan Oriol y Musacchio. Centrocampistas: Matilla, Bruno, Borja Valero, Cristóbal, Cani y Jefferson Montero. Delanteros: Rossi y Altidore.
Suggests they're going to pair Altidore with Rossi & see how they gel as a pairing. Very normal for stronger teams in Cup competitions - put fringe players who could be part of the future in with players who are part of the present & see how they stack up vis a vis their team mates and the opposition in a meaningful game. Very good opportunity.
Excellent profile of Villareal by the Guardian's Sid Lowe. Gives an idea of the quality of the side Altidore's in and the challenges he faces in breaking through. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2010/oct/25/villarreal-thrive-perfect-football-ecosystem
The first time actually went pretty well in terms of getting chances because he had plenty. Problem was he didn't take any of them. Hopefully his luck turns and they go in for him tomorrow. Big opportunity for Jozy.
Yup, and they don't really need a center forward in this set-up. They rarely play for a high cross, even with fullbacks going forward. I think when they made some subs the last game, they went to 4-5-1. But this is a lower-tier Cup game, so they may not.

For me, the link http://www.ligabbva.com/co02/articulo/305238-altidore-aiming-for-the-stars-in-spain redirects to http://www.ligabbva.com/co00/ which is photos. So, thanks for the youtube!
It was more prominent on the youtube before the Atletico game. But, I love these foreign pronunciations. Jozy Altidor-ey! In Copa del Rey news, awful match trackers suggest that Jozy's scored in the first half. While only giving about two other sentences on the game.
There is Extended Highlights in Villarreal's Website and Altidore did look good other than the goal he should of had atleast 2 assist and Villarreal should of won the game
you guys need to watch those extended highlights, jozy did really good.he is playing like a Spaniard. should've had a few assist. he might be gaining confidence. even thought its a 3rd division team, soccer is soccer.
Yeah you're right. Altidore had an excellent pass to create a 1-on-1 that Montero couldn't finish, and there were 3 other opportunities shown were he made an important pass to create.
It's good that Jozy finally got a goal but he really needs to be scoring hat tricks against 3rd division teams.
