The funny thing is, this year has truly been the year of River. We beat them in the summer with the goal from Santos Borre. We wiped the floor with them in Mendoza in what was, at the time, called the Final of all Finals. We dominated them that day. We went to La Bombonera, had our bus hit by stones, didn't say anything, and beat them 2-0 with glazes. We went back to La Bombonera, had our bus pelted with stones going down the 9 de Julio, sucked it up, played, had our suitcases filled with the team uniforms inspected by the police, the first time in the history of argentine football something like this happened, we went down twice, and equalized both times. In front of 66,000 people all ready to beat them and lift the Cup, they do get attacked, no one denies this, but no different to the two attacks suffered by river's bus in the previous two superclasicos, or any superclasico before that, and their players arm the biggest circus in the history of football, regardless of continent. Pablo Perez enters the locker room completely fine, punches a wall in anger, then comes out with an eye patch, in perhaps the most ludicrous bit of acting in history. I would have given him an oscar, but it was terrible acting. Abila and Tevez were coughing trying to pretend the attack was revenge for the gas pimienta, but in reality, no gas had been thrown. They never wanted to play the game. Angelici then signed a pact with D'Onofrio, went back on it, and said he wouldn't play under any circumstances. His whole ordeal was denied. He appealed. Lost again. Then lost on the field after having the game moved to Madrid. I still think Abila, Perez, and Tevez should be banned for a year, its no different than the Chilean goalie who cut himself back in 89. These three men faked injuries to get a match suspended. Nothing similar has ever been seen before. En fin: this was a year where River forever vanquished boca. 3 times now these two clubs have played in Finals, River winning two, boca only one, but not once in the last 40 years.... Obviously it is sad that this happens in Argentina, but it also happens in Europe regularly, and the only team in history to DEMAND points is Boca because of the CAGAZO they had to play in EL Monumental in the biggest match in history.
