United reach agreement to sign Varela
Manchester United is pleased to announce it has reached agreement to sign 20-year-old defender Guillermo Varela from Uruguayan club Club Atlético Peñarol for an undisclosed fee.

i know nothing about him but, as others have pointed out, by not seeing smalling or jones play a another minute at RB, we all win.

Yusss... we've filled that gaping hole at 2nd possibly 3rd string RB we've had for so long.

Well it's not as if we can only focus on signing one player at a time, or that we should refuse to sign any other player until our most pressing need is sorted out. Moyes could just reply 'yeah go on then' to a text message and our representatives would spend a pittance on signing a promising young right back. I'd rather he spent that extra couple of weeks having a serious look at our midfield and wing options, personally.

Speaking of Fabio, I'm really hoping the club doctors can figure out what was troubling him fitness wise and manage him properly.

I really want to see him play meaningful minutes this coming season.
