OK, so not everyone is grooving on "Stun 'em, kill 'em, chew 'em up." So, over the next week, the floor is open to suggestions for a better tagline. After that, we'll start a poll and vote on the best. Criteria include brevity, wit, and fitting well with the CyberRays and their particular situation. Put on your thinking caps, everyone. Let's go see if we can find ourselves a new tagline!
Examples, part 1 From the other WUSA team forums: Atlanta Beat The great southern Beat down. Boston Breakers Crashing over the competition! Carolina Courage WUSA Champion Blue Lions. New York Power Feel the Power. Philadelphia Charge Moore Valuable Players than any team. San Diego Spirit ...and the Spirit moved upon the field. Washington Freedom We have Mia...and you don't.
Examples, part 2 From the MLS team forums: Chicago Fire Pardon our plastic. We're Remodeling! Colorado Rapids Riding the wave to victory. Columbus Crew All Crew, through and through! Dallas Burn Scorched earth policy. DC United United we stand! Kansas City Wizards Over the rainbow and onward to victory. Los Angeles Galaxy Scaring Europe into cancelling the WCC. MetroStars Supporter sites: MetroFanatic New England Revolution Revolution fans speak up. San Jose Earthquakes 2001 MLS Cup Champions.
Howzabout: "Dynasty temporarily interrupted." or: "Dynasty temporarily interrupted. Please stand by."
That's more like it! No need to adjust your TV, it was merely a small technical glitch and will be resolved shortly!
Winner--this was supposed to be our year to repeat and instead we got a Worst to First Story (not to take away from a great achievement)... "The Dynasty has been hit by a rocky bump on the road" and another trophy is in order... So, let's change it to what Tim had in mind...
Maybe a saying with a tribute to Lark in the meaning... again - I am not creative enough to think of something... Working our way back to the top... Back to the top with the help of an angel... I don't know...
Don't think that will work--it's just me... Like for it to deal with the team and anything catchy. It's just me again, but there are a lot of tributes pouring in, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was in the uniform next year, which to a lot of us including myself would be perfectly acceptable, not to mention the emails going to the Rays. If the Rays win next year, then we can sing the praises of Angels in the Outfield. Right now, I like the Dynasty Temporarily Interrupted because the team came so close to playing against Carolina, and even so, they in all likelihood might have lost given the track record this year. Then, games were never won on the basis of "what ifs?" And a lot of us want the team to win the darn thing next year. Nap
