I've know the difference b/w American and Europeans attitudes and views to the sport but that article really made me feel kind of dirty. I think it proposes some really critical thinking in regards to the flaws of not just the riders but as if not more importantly the governing bodies. It's really like I've been preaching all along.....you can't hold the riders accountable until the UCI and it's various associations get their shit together. Great find Aveslacker I'll rep if it allows me to.
Since Hamilton is "retired" and this is doping related I'll post it here. The World Anti Doping Agency is seeking to have Tyler's eight year suspension changed to a lifetime ban. Are they f-ing serious? He's 38 years old and will never race as a pro again. Do they really need to rub salt in the wound? http://velonews.com/article/95243/wada-seeks-longer-hamilton-penalty
I think so. WADA more than anyone else amongst the anti-doping agencies needs to get their shit together if they are ever to combat doping especially in cycling. As wide spread as doping is believed to exist in cycling, they seem to catch so few cheaters.
Me too - and with all he was doing by riding for the Abruzzese who are still struggling to recover from the L'Aquila quake. SO pissed at this guy right now.
Agreed. I still lack confidence in the system but if it really does work as Pat Mcquaid says it does then either doping isn't as bad an issue as reported or the Mcquaid is utterly and completely full of shit and the system does not work. I'll stick with the latter.
Wiggo Tweets: http://twitter.com/bradwiggins/status/2784487165 Awesome! By the way, many many cyclists are on Twitter, and it's pretty fantastic as a source of info. Here's a partial list (many others do too): http://ow.ly/gqjX
