They must have been tired. So many games on Wendsday then Saturday/Sunday. They need a rest. The bad thing is, they wont be getting one soon.
But why Anderlecht players are not tired ? I think that Ceulemans isn't a good coach for a topclass team as Brugge...
He's a good enough coach. He just has a lot of injuries, and he has to rebuild a team. Lets not forget he lost Simons, Ceh, Rozehnal and Vanderheyden. Those four were all regular first team starters. It would be like Anderlecht losing Deschacht, Kompany, Willhemson and Bassegio. You don't think that would affect their performances? The only thing that dissapoints me is that Ceulemans still hasn't chosen a clear system. As long as he doesn't do that, we will continue to struggle. 4-3-3 can work, but not the way it's played now. I would give Portillo a free role right behind Balaban and use Blondel and Dufer on the wings. That way the front men will get something else than those eternal long balls.
i think ceulemans has been at westerlo too long. He turned into a 'calimero' when he plays against standard, anderlecht or genk he makes sure his defense is good, and then put the ball forwards. But when you really won to win 80% of your matches and if you want to get points in the CL, you can't use that mentality. Ceulemans surely is competent, but no topcoach, just like broos.
Is anyone in Belgium mad about the handball on the Bayern Goal. Heres a video http://latestgoals.net/detail.php?id=799. It clearly hits the Bayern player's hands.
not really, people are more mad about : - Butina, who ... well, what did he do ??? - The 5 players in the box that couldn't clear the ball
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IEF9B8BT I found that saved on my comp. Its all the Brugge cl goals from the year they played in a group with Celta Vigo, AC Milan, and Ajax.
Not much talk here in a while. Well Brugge hasnt had that great of a season, but good news is that Lange is back. Hes socred 2 goals since his return. www.debrugge.be I'm sure alot of you have seen this site but i have just found it. It shows all the Brugge highlights for every game.
Good luck tonight at Juve Anyway the past week-end was a good one for Brugge with both defeat of Standard (still first before THE game against Anderlecht next week end !) and Anderlecht
I think he's a good player, very young and he'll be international, I'm sure... But I like more Jason Vandelanoitte (?), he made a great game in Champions-League (against Bayern or Juventus). Both players will have a great future
He's Ok, I see him have a long career at FCB. But I too like Vandelanoitte better and also Yulu-Matondo is really good; A young fast right winger like you don't see too many in Belgium.
Hey, I was wondering why do they play the White Stripes song after every goal they sing. The Brugge fans seem to have endeared themselves to that song. (Yes, I'm White Stripes fan a bit)
It's actually really stupid (and typically Belgian) that we had to wait for like 10 other guys to be injured before these youngsters were given a chance. Makes you wonder how many other young Belgian players go wasted every season because of lack of playing time.
Yup, I could name some. Although you never know it was their own fault (lack of determination) or that of the coach.
Is Buffel an example? he went to Feyenoord, then Rangers, with whom he is now past the Group Stages of the Champions League!
cdpconrad is right. And Buffel didn't leave because he was bad, but because he was really good. Already at the age of 15 he was wanted by all the big Belgian teams and some major European clubs. Together with Snelders (now FC Brussels), Afana (never heard from the guy anymore), Swerts (playing for Vitesse I believe) Buffel went from a Belgian team to Feyenoord.
