You hit the nail on the head! Numbers = Money = Hard group to "manage" = Less/No hassling from fan assistance If there were 500 of us, or 1000, in the Cauldron we wouldn't even be talking about this. They'd have to listen to us, not the other way around.
Ok, many good points. I'll take some of the better ones and send them back in a couple days. It isn't going to change the way he approaches the situation (at least I don't think), but at least he'll see our side of the story. I did send an email back last night asking for specific examples, who the complaints are coming from, what we can do (if WE choose) to make the situation better. Of course, I'll post what I hear back.
You know what Cj is gone after this season! Bye bye cj you have done nothing in your tenure as wizards Gm f- you have a clue and get more than 5000 people out to a game. I heard the Rhino's are looking for a gm.
Your point is a good one, even though you could portray it a bit better. I agree that Curt most likely will not be with the team next season (or even late this season if you think about it), but he's what we've got to work with now. Outside of Curt, there are other people with the Wizards that will be with the new front office (should the team stay). You never know what positions those people might land in with a new FO. A more important point to make is that you never know who is watching us. Potential owner could be at the games, even in the stands, and we'd never know it. If they did buy the team, and were put off by something they heard out of our section (remember, first impressions are everything), they could choose to not be very helpful to our section in the future. Something a few people say could steer a potential owners attention away from our great support for the team. Just something to keep in mind.
BTW, got a response from Curt today. He was vague, no surprise there. But his point remains the same. He said three things: 1) The complaints are about words in both our songs/chants as well as individuals who yell things out. 2) The complaints are from fans. (I had asked if the complaints had come from/through fan assistance. Apparently not.) 3) The complaints have increased sharply as of late.
Did not say I had a clue. I speculated. Does it not make sense that a new owner might try a new GM and front office staff? Sure, Curt would be in line to interview for the job but I would hope new ownership would interview other candidates. And it would only make sense for a new owner to try to get the cream of the crop out of the Wizards organization. People that now have experience producing gameday, advertising, marketing, etc. These people would have a leg up on the competition with their experience. Wouldn't you agree? That is all I was saying with my statments.
Ok. I just think the whole line of speculation serves no purpose right now other than to vent the obvious frustration we all feel. That said, I think this would be better handled by mocking those fans rather than going crazy on f-bombs and getting security ruining games. Maybe one large "WON'T SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN!" chant in your best Mrs. Reverend Lovejoy will get the point across.
You guys must take a cue from those Portland Timbers fans. They look more bad-ass than anything I've ever seen in MLS. Dirty, mismatched greens, face covering masks and "No Pity" scarves. The L.A. fans do a boxing count for players who fall down. When they get to 11 they say something like "Drag him off the field, drag him off the field, Hi-ho the derry-o, drag him off the field..."
Nachos, buddy. There aren't many sections better at taunting the injured and whiny than us. Bobby Rhine's still looking for Ben.
It was Vanney this year, right? Who was it when it all went down the first time? That's what I was talking about.
Yeah, it wasn't Ben who got into it with Bobby last year. I don't even think Ben was at that game actually, (correct me if I'm wrong there Ben). It was somebody who doesn't post on BS. I'll tell you next time I see you.
Did you just suggest that we shouldn't speculate on BigSoccer?! Isn't that what all this is about? This site runs on about 97% speculation man. I was thinking something like: "If you make noise, we won't cuse!" Or some more creative version of that.

Smaller crowds = less background noise = Cauldron much easier to hear. I don't think we're any more offensive than we've been all season, I just think more people can hear it. Should we complain that the rest of the crowd have been smaller & quieter?
Dear Mr. Johnson: I attended a Wizards game recently and was appalled at the lack of any language used by most of the people in attendance. This type of silence and apathy towards the team offends me personally. Please address this issue as soon as possible.
