It'd be interesting to project a similar vote increment to 2008 and see how the electoral vote difference expand. Which is the nascent red states for 2008? It looks like Colorado is taking definite left turn, with both houses of the state legislature switching to the Dems. The further question, will California be "in-play" by 2008?
