I didn't realize I had access to this list - so I'm going to begin updating this - but will post on that thread for input.

It would be nice to enable true embedding of video in the forums. So, for example, I could grab this code:

    Code:
    <object width="512" height="328" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" id="ordie_player_6d1caacad1"><param name="movie" value="http://player.ordienetworks.com/flash/fodplayer.swf" /><param name="flashvars" value="key=6d1caacad1" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed width="512" height="328" flashvars="key=6d1caacad1" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" quality="high" src="http://player.ordienetworks.com/flash/fodplayer.swf" name="ordie_player_6d1caacad1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"></embed></object><div style="text-align:left;font-size:x-small;margin-top:0;width:512px;"><a href="http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/6d1caacad1/jay-s-2004-announcement" title="from sustainabletips">Jay's 2004 Announcement</a> - watch more <a href="http://www.funnyordie.com/" title="on Funny or Die">funny videos</a></div>
And see the actual video, rather than having to click through a link.

It would be great if we could copy and paste tables from a website on the forum without having to rearange everything.

    True.

    Even with the
    Code:
tag, there's still some re-arranging that needs to be done.

[LINEUP-4-3-3]You can all start by getting rid of these wrap up things going on...I mean really, all the ideas on the thread and this is what you guys are devoting your time too?? Do we really need these things? How about trying to find out how we can cut and paste league tables onto a post instead?[/LINEUP-4-3-3]

EDIT: Retracting my original beef with this feature.

Most lineups are listed in numerical order by jersey number, which often corresponds to: goalie, defense, midfield, strikers.

If you copy and paste such a list, this new lineup feature will have it backwards.

If we're gonna make it copy-paste friendly, it should also use line-breaks as delimiters, so we can do this:

    Code:
    [LINEUP--4-4-2]
    Cevallos
    de la Cruz
    Hurtado
    Espinoza
    Reasco
    Valencia
    Mendez
    Aguinaga
    E. Tenorio
    Delgado
    Kaviedes
    [/LINEUP--4-4-2]

I would add a 4-2-3-1 formation instead of the 4-5-1. It tends to be more popular nowadays.

Hey... is the formation a vbulletin thing or did you guys write the code for it yourselves? A Celtic forum I post on thinks it would be cool... if it's vbulletin then could you point us in the direction to find it? If you guys wrote it yourself that's cool if you don't want to spill any "trade secrets" so to speak, just curious. Thanks :D

Some things I would suggest in the line-up template :

1.) Have the Image of the pitch show the whole pitch not just half

2.) WHy are there balls instead of little players ?
    represent players

    3.) On the different formations
Why not have the user input such as :
    keeper;Name,Name,Name,Name;Name,Name,Name,Name;Name,Name;
with the ";" character being the line separator .

    Location:
Place the keeperName in their position
but separate the lines equidistance longwise on the field then separate the
players equal distance with wise .

    Agreed.

A game involves two teams, right? It would be cool to have a double-sided image, one side being for your team, one side being for the opponents.

How often do you post both lineups, though? I don't think I've ever done it - I only use it in pre-match threads for my side, or during drafts when I'm setting up my formation.

You can always just use the template twice for two teams.

I agree but there would be no more space if we want to adapt more formations to a single team like a 4-3-2-1 or a 4-2-3-1.

Most posts in the match-day threads have the line-ups of that team, not always both usually because, at least in my case, I cannot always speak intelligently of the opposing team and what their starting line up and formation might even be.

If we could invert it, and then simply use the same tags, then someone that would want to post both sides could do so by posting one on top of the other.

It looks like a bunch of threads are stuck. Maybe we could work on getting this fixed?

    A 4-2-3-1 seems like a must to me, I'd also add a 4-3-1-2 or 4-4-2 diamond formation.
