Towards the end it seemed that they weren't even trying to score anymore. Riquelme was extremely unselfish. Seriously the match should have ended 5-0 or more.

Boca Juniors: Mauricio Caranta; Hugo Ibarra, Jonatan Maidana, Claudio Morel Rodríguez y Clemente Rodríguez; Pablo Ledesma, Ever Banega y Neri Cardozo; Juan Román Riquelme; Marcos Mondaini y Martín Palermo. DT: Miguel Angel Russo.

7 of the first 11 are from the inferiores :)

Can somebody post the goal of JRR?

He was good the first half. Fast and dangerous he was giving his marker a hard time.

In the second half he didn't do much but had a few chances. He even tried a chilena  :D.

I wish he'd take more shots on goal though. It seemed that sometimes he passed it when he could have taken the shot.

I thought he was excellent the last weekend against Gimnasia.

He gets a thumbs up from me, but there are still better strikers on the team:

    1.-Palacio
    2.-Palermo
    3.-Guille
    4.-Boselli/Mondaini
    5.-Mondaini/Boselli
99.-Marioni (I have lost faith in him)

I put palacio in front of palermo because of my man crush, but in terms of goals, palermo will probably score more

That's how I'd rate them also. I too have a man crush on Palacio :p.

But Mondaini definitely has potential. He's very fast and creates alot of space for other players, kinda like Palacio.

Boca just keep on crunching out quality players from the inferiores.

That was some golazo today by Boselli .

    Ibarra - Maidana - Cata - Silvestre
    Ledesma - Banega - Neri

    Nicely done.

I love that picture of Guille where he's standing on a player's back.

The gallinas lost (you can't always get lucky playing that bad) so we have to win this game to take second place. Dale Boca!

    Que golazo de Boselli.

Incredible depth Boca have at the forwards position. And now Palacio should be back for the game next weekend  :D.

Ledesma has been playing great also. I think he's won back that starting spot on the right.

Well, it wasn't exactly the finest performance of the season, but playing at Mendoza in that stadium is tough, and especially coming off a midweek Libertadores match.

I will take it, you have to get some ugly wins like that during the season, but the team is better than they showed against Godoy Cruz.

But Loco, River has been getting more than their share of ugly lucky wins this season, you have to admit. It was past due for them to lose as they did this past Sunday.

No shit. I'll be the first to tell you we've been playing like shit. Yet I don't think we deserved to lose those games either. I think the game vs. Arsenal should have been for River (like it ended), and a tie in the game vs. Quilmes. As for the Boca game, it said that you guys not only played bad, but deserved to lose.. Was it really like that, or is LaNacion exagerrating your performance?

Ah, by the way.. You guys were lucky that Arzuaga didn't play.. That guy is on fire this semester and is, by far, Godoy Cruz's most dangerous weapon.. Watch, he's going to score 5 on us (River).. :(

Palacio will start against Nueva Chicago :)
I can already see his goals in my mind, Riquelme in the midfield, looks one way, makes the pass the other way, through the middle, cutting their defense as easily as cutting butter with a warm knife. Meanwhile Palacio starts the diagonal run, you can see a small smirk on his face as he rushes past the bemused defenders, the smell is in the air. You can sense the kill is comming, like a great white shark that hasn't eaten in days, the ball is through, it's 1v1 and all Rodrigo does is tap the ball gently with his right foot.

    boca 1 - 0 n. chicago 10th minute

Looks like Boca is already starting to get busy in the transfer market, bringing in an... American! Eddie Johnson is basically on his way to becoming a Boca player..

    http://www.terra.cl/deportes/index.cfm?id_reg=764286&accion=futbolinternacional

Is he the new Luis Hernandez? :D (Boca decided to experiment and bring him, but he failed -as expected-).

By the way, congratulations on your new sub-forum. ;)

Eddie Johnson is nothing but fluff. When he played at FCD I used to see him play regularly as well as a few practices. The guy is fast and does have skill, his problem is that he's a headcase that adores himself. He went on a cold streak and hasn't recovered yet. I'm sure he'd flop but who knows what a change of scenery could do.
