I was listening to "3 Legends" on Century FM out of Newcastle and super mac had mentioned there was news that was to be released from St. James dealing with the managerial search...wonder what that was about?

Certainly they won't name a permanent until the end of the campaign?

If they do name someone, that guy will be hamstrung with Souey's piss-poor players. The F'ing transfer window is over. I don't know about if loan signings could still be made, or getting someone like that guy Celtic just released, but who would want to come in now just to try to avoid the drop? Your Harry Bassett survival expert type certainly won't be coming with the cachet to manage NUFC. Your Martin O'Neill type certainly won't want to be plying his trade in the Championship next fall.

    Thx,

    Jay!

Why? He won 3 German League titles, one Champions League and one Champions League runners up spot. And a few German cups and brought World Class players like Ballack and Ze Roberto to the club. BNot forgetting bringing through Schweinsteiger, and someone else!

O'Neill quit Celtic, due to his deeply ill wife! Ahe is sdtill deeply ill, so I'm not sure he would come! He ruled himself out of the England job more or less, due to his ill wife! And, Emre is a fine player, Parker and Owen are both fine players too. Given is worldclass, Ramage and Tayulor are great youngsters.

The rumor is that Mrs O'Neill should be well enough by May for him to take another job.

I will say it again, if Sven Gormless Eriksson becomes our manager, I will stop supporting Newcastle for the duration of his reign.

Other than that, bring back Keegan, I don't care if we win any silverware as long as we can beat the likes of Man U 5-0 so I can take the piss out my mates for a while...then I'll be happy for now.

What about Claudio Ranieri? No one has mentioned him yet. Perhaps a sleeper candidate?

    Thx,

Anyone at this moment is better than that tool Souness.

I tried to tell you lot that about 7 months ago, remember? All I got for my trouble was negative reps.

    Cheers guys.

    Re: The Odds Are In

I've thrown Claudio around to a few buds and haven't received negative feedback. He's a solid manager with ties all over the world....there are plenty of players that would play for him.

After sleeping on it yet another day here is my wishlist in no particular order:

    Paul Jewell
    Claudio Renieri
    Martin O'Neal
    Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeegan

I've got it down to three......big Sam seems like the logical choice but I truly don't want to spend my saturdays watching boring football resulting in 1-0 or 0-0........I'd like some "sexy" footie!

good write up with some tremendous quoting......for instance:

'We have already had a lot of top names applying for the job, but the Board won't be hurried."

"And yet 52,000 Geordie supporters will turn up for every home game. It is the best job going."
