Sao Paulo makes sense because it was the club of Pele

Juventus and Bayern deserve to be here, as well as Benfica and Stade de Reims

Rangers may have won a lot of title, but not difficult in a championship of 12 clubs like the scotland one.

It’s not always been 12 teams. You can only beat what is put in front of you and to win the league 50 times is still a great achievement. No other team in the world comes close. It means than on average Rangers have won the league title every other year. But we have only won one European title and that’s not good enough. I don’t think there can be much argument that Real Madrid are the most successful European team ever. I don’t know enough about South American football to comment.

Pele played for Santos not Sao Paolo. Stade Reims have no place in a thread of this sort.

The poll should be Boca Juniors, Ajax, Liverpool, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Bayern Munich.

    Boca Juniors
    5 Copa Libertadores(tied for 2)
    3 Intercontinental Club Cup(tied for 1st)
    2nd all-time domestic league titles.
Note: Penrol also won the same numbers of Copa Libertadores and Intercontinental Club Cup.

    Ajax:
    4 European Cup
    1 UEFA Cup
    1 Cup Winners' Cup
    2 Intercontinental Club Cup
    # 5(tied) all-time European titles.
    #1 all-time domestic league titles.

    AC Milan:
    6 European Cup
    2 Cup Winners' Cup
    3 Intercontinental Club Cup(tied for #1)
    # 2 all-time European titles.
    #2 all-time domestic league titles.

    Real Madrid:
    9 European Cup
    2 UEFA Cup
    3 Intercontinental Club Cup(tied for #1)
    # 1 all-time European titles.
    #1 all-time domestic league titles.

    Bayern Munich:
    4 European Cup
    1 UEFA Cup
    1 Cup Winners' Cup
    2 Intercontinental Club Cup
    # 5(tied) all-time European titles
    #1 all-time domestic league titles.

    Liverpool:
    4 European Cup
    3 UEFA Cup
    #4 all-time European titles
    #1 all-time domestic league titles.

Sorry other teams mentioned here, but not considered in my opinion. Juventus in my opinion is the only team who could be in the poll. They are not considered because they did not do very well in European Cup. Arsenal

    Inter Milan:
    2 European Cup
    3 UEFA Cup
    2 Intercontinental Club Cup
    # 8 all-time European titles.
    #3 all-time domestic league titles.

    Juventus
    2 European Cup
    3 UEFA Cup
    1 Cup Winners' Cup
    2 Intercontinental Club Cup
    # 5(tied) all-time European titles.
    #1 all-time domestic league titles.

    Manchester Utd
    2 European Cup
    1 Cup Winners' Cup
    1 Intercontinental Club Cup
#10(tied with Porto) all-time European titles
    2nd all-time domestic league titles.

    Arsenal
    1 UEFA Cup
    1 Cup Winners' Cup
#21(tied with Chelsea, Dinamo Kiev, Real Zaragoza) all-time European titles or the 4th most successful English clubs after Hotspur, Liverpool and Manchester Utd.
    #3 all-time domestic league titles.

    ---------------------------------------------
FC Barcelona deserved a mention. They won 8 trophies in Europe. Only Real Madrid won more. They are one of four European teams who had won all three major European trophies.
    1 European Cup
    3 UEFA Cup
    4 Cup Winners' Cup
    #2(tied) all-time European Titles.
    #2 all-time domestic league titles.

As opposed to the huge success by Tottenham of...NO domestic League titles..since 1992...or in the case of all tiime...correctly stated 13 Arsenal domestic titles to 2 for Tottenham.........

    Fourth behind Hotspur!!!!!! my butt!!!
Granted behind the other two but...please dont post such insults....

In terms of European success Arsenal rank behind Spurs - 3 European trophies to two - of all English clubs only Liverpool have won more trophies in Europe than Spurs.

I am stating facts. Arsenal got 2 titles and Hotspur with 3 titles. No one can change that. How can you agrue that Arsenal won more titles than Hotspur?

And I forgot to mention that Arseanl is tied with 4th with Nottingham Forrest, Leeds Utd and Chelsea.

    Liverpool 7 titles, 4 EC/CL, 3 UC.
    MU 3 titles, 2 EC/CL, 1 CWC.
    Hotspur 3 titles, 1 CWC, 2 UC
    Nottingham Forrest 2 titles, 2 EC/CL
    Chelsea 2 titles, 2 CWC
    Arsenal 2 titles, 1 CWC, 1 UC.
Leeds United 2 titles, 2 UC.

In most ranking system, they counted the importance of the trophies. Nottingham won two European Cups. So they usually ranked ahead of Arsenal, but I decided to count them straight up.
I admitted I wanted to push Arsenal ranking one more spot upward because Arsenal fans would be upset. Arsenal would have dropped to 6th, regardless how I see the importance of the trophies. Chelsea would be 5th and Arsenal 6th if I see CWC more important than UEFA Cup. If I see UEFA Cup more important than CWC, Leeds Utd would be 5th and Arsenal would be 6th.

Best team ever, I could be swayed in thinking it was Madrid with carlos, figo, zidane, raul, beckham but I don't know. I'm between Madrid and Juventus... :)

Roberto Carlos. Carlos isn't his surname, it's part of his entire Brasilian nickname.

    :)

The Scottish league used to be pretty decent. Aberdeen used to be very good (i think they beat Real Madrid), Celtic used to finish below second (this was the Rangers 9 in-a-row period :) ). Still though, Rangers need to prove them selves in Europe to be in that list.

Easily the Milan team of the late 80's, early 90's :) That team they had in 93-94 was something I don't even think CHelsea ever matched. Gullit, Van Basten, Papin, B. Laudrup, Raduciou, Rijkaard, etc.....amazing
