Cant say who the best really was.
General knowledge would suggest it was Yashin. I liked a lot Peter Schmeichel and Michel Preud'homme was my personal favorite.

I've voted for Shilts, for most of people isn't the best ever, but IMO the most reliable and secure keeper of all time..

Yashin is the best of all time, but Buffon and Oliver Kahn are also up there too.

Amadeo Carrizo el mas grande de todos pero tambien Mazurkiewicz un gran arquero.
The great Amadeo was the one who showed Higuita, Chilavert, and rogerio ceni that goalkeeping was more than saving shots

Lev Yashin never seen him play but from what I have read he is by far the greatest ever really not an arguement.

I´ll go with Kahn. he really made the difference for his team. amazing goalkeeper, quick and strong. he leaded that poor germany team in 2002 to the final match. it was the worst germany team of the last 30 years at least.

Not of all time, but the most charismatic one.

There was a time when a guy named Ronaldo didn't score goals, but went up to the third floor and saved the day, with some miraculous saves for us corintianos.
Ages before the other Ronaldo came up.

Unfortunatelly, he never had a good chance on the seleção, because managers Parreira and Zagallo never liked him. They prefered Taffarel, who was a good goalkeeper, but not very safe on important decisions. He used to get nervous and lose easy balls on those ocasions, being called "Frangarell" for that reason (frango = chicken = an easy ball lost to the goal).
    Ronaldo was much more reliable.

I'm pretty sure that he was way much better than Taffarel and that, being on the seleção, would be much more recognized nowadays. Life isn't fair.

And he had such a strong personality, when most brazilian soccer players used to like samba and play percussion instruments on their days off, he never hid his love for rock'n roll, even being the main singer and guitar player of a rock band.
And he lived his club, we could feel his passion on his marvelous saves.

Whenever a corintiano (Corinthians supporter) says about an idol called "Ronaldo", know for sure that he isn't talk about a certain "phenomenon" who used to be around , but about another Ronaldo, who wore our black-and-white jersey for more than 10 years and helped us to achieve some important titles.
And that was in the imagination of a generation of future goalies, until these days (especially among corintianos).

    Ronaldo é CORINTHIANS!
(And could have been seleção too, if Zagallo weren't so hard-headed).
