LOL. We've been praying for rain here for about 4 years now. Perhaps you poms could come & play cricket down here instead !!!
England would've been in a worse situation if Lee had that full-toss LBW decision given on Pietersen - but barring a miracle only the rain-gods can save England now
I know this is very late, but posting video highlights of Day 1 of 1st test for the benefit of those who haven't been able to watch anything (especially those of us in North America who have no coverage). http://media01.news.com.au/foxsports/video/220705CriNewsWeb.asf I'll continue to post further video highlights as and when they become available. They usually lag real-time by about 3 days.
Here come video highlights of 1st test, Day 3: http://media01.news.com.au/foxsports/video/240705CricketNewsWEB.asf
Maybe he can bat against Shane Warne, because England has yet to produce a batsman who can play confidently against the master leg-spinner.
I watched just about every ball on Saturday and I'll give the fat knacker his due he was awesome, Pieterson may have the measure of him though.
well, to be fair to the English I don't think the Aussie batsmen would fare much better against McGrath and Warne...
Niether Aussie or English domestic Cricket could rival the intensity of an Ashes test at Lords to be fair, Warne recently took 2-100 off 30 overs in a County Championship game with Middlesex, and yes I enjoyed his bouncer.
well, but the tests are different - and I don't know what kind of domestic records McGrath and Warne have since they started playing tests, but I doubt if they played too many games with all the international call-ups.
Oh, be quiet you big Aussie fool I think it was a good point to be fair, if AUS played AUS it would not be a high scoring game.
It's also something thats been talked about by the games commentators in the past some suggesting that a game between Englands Batsman/ Aussie bowlers and Aussie batsmen/ Englands bowlers maybe interesting.
So? My point was not about how often they play each other, but rather the relative quality of bowling and batting - It's all hypothetical of course, but is Australian batting good enough to dominate the world of cricket even without the support from decent bowling? Or could McGrath & Warne dominate Australia if they were playing for England? I've no doubt that Australia is better than England in most aspects of the game, but I think over the years the bowling has been much more crucial to Aussies' successes than the batting - M&W's combined test wickets of nearly 1100 is a telling statistic, I think.
They would have to stare themselves down all the time "and McGrath stands and glowers at himself, he does not look happy. McGrath just shrugs it off and ignores himself"
