Southampton is awful but we look like we're going to win the league today.

We are playing much better now that the game is over. They are creating chance after chance.

All that talk by Arteta about us needing to learn how to kill the game. Perhaps he finally got his message through?! The crowd is absolutely lovin it!

If my boss gave all the best projects to my co-workers who have already turned in their two-week's notice, while sticking me with whatever crap is left over, I'd be pissed off and I'd start updating my resume.

I'm not saying Arteta is wrong to punish Auba. I'm saying it's a problem that these issues keep boiling over as Arteta seems unable to deal with them quietly behind the scenes.

If the real problem is that Auba is childish and immature, then Arteta should strip him of the captaincy.

I managed to miss Gabriel being taken off. Hopefully just for rotational, managing minutes, during festive period.

Leading to a long overdue sighting of the Holdinho!

I think it's pretty clear that Auba was a very poor choice in captains. And I think most people, Arteta included, would like to see that undone.

p.s. Eddie hasn't turned in his resignation as you imply. He's just not accepted the employers offer for continuing his contract. They might still reach an agreement, which is clearly what the boss would like to see.

If only he knew someone who had the power to replace the captain

Seemed it, plus he was on a yellow.

He was smiling ear-to-ear as he greeted everyone on the bench. Not gonna do that with a bum hamstring.

We should totally push for at least one more goal! To create a positive GD... maybe our first of the season?

Of course he knows. And I have a little hunch he might just do that now. Even if it incurs the wrath of you and some others.

If Partey wants to resurrect any reputation he might've had for being able to put the ball in the net, I suggest he stop with the rash shots from 20+ yards.

I thought you were arguing earlier that Auba being disciplined was a bad move by Arteta, bad man management, all on his shoulders. No?

As they should! Same goes for Xhaka... but lucking he's cut way back on his speculative shots from downtown.

I'm done with Auba, but it's hard to envision someone taking him off our hands with his wage.

    FT ARS 3-0 Soton

A great match by us. Collectively top to bottom.

Nice recovery and statement of intent after rather demoralizing and shameful defeats in our last 2 games.

Perhaps it's a bit over-simplified but I think if we just came out for most games like we did today... with postivity, pace, urgency... AND kept that up even after we take the lead...

... that we'd (have) earn(ed) a whole bunch more points and be higher up the table.

Let's just see what the next few games bring. Oward!
