Denmark had to travel from Baku after playing an exhausting match in 35 degree heat against Czechia. They just ran out of energy in the second half. In the first half they were countering and looking dangerous and looking comfortable.

The referee decision was appalling. To not even consult the monitor is inexcusable. Forza Italia I say.

Insigne has to be one of the dumbest players I’ve seen in a long time.

It has been the best summer for me ever.

Argentina wins in Brazil to win a title after 28 years.

My second favorite team, Argentina’s cousins, Italy wins the Euro after 53 years.

I laughed my ass off when Eder showed up with the trophy.

It looked like he was some hostage, where he was told, “If you drop the trophy, it will blow up killing you and everybody around you.” The guy looked so spooked.

English fans are asking for the Euro final to be replayed because "the way Italy played wasn't fair"....

    The petition's statement:

The match on 11/07/2021 was not fair at all. After italy only receiving a yellow card for dragging England players like they were slaves. All the pushes, pulls and kicks and Italy was still allowed to win? Definitely biased. Italy should have been given a red card for their gameplay and the rematch should happen with a non biased referee. This was not fair at all.

So FIFA is using a youth tournament as a testing ground for possible rule changes?

    Among the modifications:

    - Reduced game time --- Two halves of 30 minutes, although the clock would stop when the ball isn't in play

    - Unlimited substitutions

    - Kick-in's rather than throw-ins (this one is dangerous, as a lot of teams would focus on forcing rebounds off the opposition in order to claim what would essentially be a freekick set-piece)

    - Forcing players to step off the pitch for 5 minutes when they get a yellow card, promoting more caution and intelligence when defending.

    Opinions?

Other than unlimited subs, the rest are stupid.

Those who come up with these ideas should create brand new sport instead.

Sounds like hockey unlimited subs is just as bad as the other shit rules. I'd probably stop watching. just like I did for the most part with hockey.

    The Gold Cup.

I’m curious why certain teams didn’t bring full squads to this tournament? You would think that they would want to prepare for the World Cup.

There were also rumors rumbling that Conmebol and Concacaf should merge their international tournament. A big fat no to that idea. I remember when we would invite the US and they would bring their second team and said that the Gold Cup was more important(Since it gave them a shot at the Confed Cup). The Copa America is far more difficult than the Confederations Cup.

And Rogelio Funes Mori is turning into an ideal Mexico. I have to chuckle at that. The guy was never going to be anything special for us, hell, he even trained freakin Gio Simeone in the pecking order. But, I guess as long as he scores goals, he’ll be loved.

Now, granted, I don’t watch that much of the women’s game, but one thing I noticed while watching the US Women’s side play the Dutch was how little slide tackling there is in the women’s game. Is that common thing?

There are two things I notice when I watch women’s soccer: very little slide tackling and absolutely terrible goalkeeping (I don’t mean “could be better”, I mean horrific GKing)

Maybe it’s just a coincidence with the few games I watch, but I always notice those two things

... also LOL at the top scorer of the tournament being a Qatari player. The second top scorer is also from Qatar, although tied with a few other players

Top scorer tend to be misleading though. Player could hit hattrick in easy game like England group stage game in 2018 and then gets nothing when things get tough at KO stage.

While no doubt Luis Diaz is great player, half of his goal tally was from bronze medal game:laugh:
