Liverpool FC have officially unveiled their 2023/24 home kit. The bright red kit with white collars and cuffs is similar to that used by Bill Shankly's team in his last year in charge which will be 50 years ago next season. slightly of-topic .... I'm in the south of France, and like on most vacations I do an in-depth scientific study of the relative global popularity of LFC by keeping track of the football shirts I spot worn by the locals. here of course PSG rules the roost, but as far as PL teams are concerned the score is LFC 6 - MC 2 - Arsenal 2 - MU zero.
Duck, Old fart story! A friend coming over to stay for my birthday next week was a runner in his teens. He would run in the sand on the Oregon coast with the then famous runner Steve Prefontaine. Steve was the runner that worked with the guys setting up Nike. He’d be testing and advising on the shoes. When they, Nike set up to go public Steve offered first dibs to John, my friend, a chance to get in for $1,000. John said he didn’t have 1,000 Penny’s at that time and passed it up. Yes he has worked out how many millions he could have now. But he’ll still be driving over from eastern Oregon in his 20 year old Chrysler van with his dog on Tuesday. We’re hold the birthday bash for 5 May birthday boys. With a total of 393 years. 3 guitars, 1 banjo and harmonica and plenty of alcofrolic beverages. Lots of Credence, Lightfoot and the Beatles of course. Just fkn don’t…..
Loved to take late winter breaks from the grey skies in Portland by driving out to eastern Oregon - Bend, Sisters, places like that. Visit the Deschutes brewery, take in the beautiful scenery, etc. Good times. Oh btw happy birthday! Don't set the house on fire lighting all those candles on the cake.
Nice mostly, a few days in Avignon, day trips to Monaco and Cannes. Beautiful places. On my way home now.
