Per RB Twitter - Reserves tie Philly reserves 2-2. Hertzog and former St John's player Walter Hines (who is a guest player) with the goals.
It's bizarre how we have never seen Hertzog on the pitch. I think he only had one appearance and that was against Columbus last year in the beginning of the season, didn't look bad either.. Even artega is getting PT over him. Did anyone know if Lade got any PT in the match? If he did hopefully it was only like a half or less .
The team didn't post a recap of the game on the website yet but when they do they have full lineups and subs listed.
He has come on for the last 10-15 minutes in a few more minutes, that game against Columbus at the start of 2010 was by far the most impressive appearance though. He's looked pretty mediocre otherwise, yet he also almost always ends up on the scoresheet of these reserve games.
Well, forward has been our deepest position these past two seasons so it's really no surprise that he hasn't got any PT. But with how Barklage, Ruthven, Lade and Meara have played this season coming out of nowhere/draft I'm wondering what Hertzog can do. Even lately we have had forward depth issues with Rodgers gone, Henry hurt and Agudelo coming off injury, not even a late game sub? I guess he'll get some PT in the Open cup games atleast
Full Recap Lineup - Jeremy Vuolo; Jonathan Borrojo; Ousmane Sanogo; Christian Ibidgha; Connor Lade (C); Corey Hertzog; Ryan Maduro; Julian Stahler; **Giorgi Chirgadze; Jhonny Arteaga; Juan Agudelo (Walter Hines 56)

With all the injuries, the one positive is that at least we can take a look at these younger guys against some good competition.

With that good showing, hopefully it leads to a contract for him. We desperately need some forwards and some speed.
http://www.newyorkredbulls.com/news/2012/08/red-bulls-reserves-fall-dc-united-3-1 3-1 loss to DC today. Arteaga with the goal. Lineup - Vuolo, Borrajo, Keel, Ruthuen, Miazga, Lloyd, Najem, Palsson, Smith, Angulo, Arteaga
2 of the U-16s started the match, one more subbed in later on. I also see that Corey Hertzog replaced Arteaga at halftime.
Backe said the reserve coach, Mike Petke, was supposed to sign off on Lloyd Sam. Apparently he liked what he saw. Judging by the video, he has much better dribbling skills than Richards, who was almost pure speed.
Weird highlight reel. First 7 minutes shows he has some speed and good crossing ability but nothing came of any of it due to some bad finishing on his teammates part. The last 5 minutes every highlight results in a goal. Some nice work from Sam. Shows some tenacity under heavy pressure and an ability to play some really quality crosses. Not sure he will get that much time to operate here but nice anyway.
