http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/7807951.stm If this is true, the man deserves a tribute. Clearly there is 'the goal', but he was more than that too. A loyal servant in an age of disloyalty. Best of luck Wayne. get those clowns out of relegation Oh, and I will point out one silver lining: No more Bridge v. Cole debates
Class act. Bridgey will be sorely missed and I am sure will recieve a great reception when he returns.
This is terrible news for me...my favburite Chelsea player, gone Will never forget all his contributions, and yes especially 'that goal' Follow, Follow, Follow There was only 2 minutes to go, It was Wayne Bridge's goal.....that sent us our of control And knocked the Arsenal out of Euro!!!
In my reminiscing state, remember that goal he scored against Porstmouth in 04(?)... Got the ball in from the left, beat the 2 Pompey defenders, and slotted it in the back of the net with his left foot....fkn class!!
the fanboys wont agree but something sickens me to see us sell of the soul of the club with the likes of Guddy, Duff, Bridge and possibly Cudicini and bring in the likes of Sheva, Ballack and Deco who are clearly here for the paycheck and not the club... funny that our success has dwindled since their inclusion as well. sad times indeed.
Wayne will always be a class act and a model professional. It's sad to see him go. Good luck lad and thanks for the memories!
Just thought about that, we're losing more and more of the "backbone" of the club and its quite sad. Who's next? Joey? Really sad if Bridge ends up leaving, guy's a class act and I wish him well.
I think this will be a good move for Bridge. He will get a lot of jack & eventually will be wearing the Captain's Armband for City. However, the one thing that I will remember from Bridge, is that strong run up the left side vs. the gooners & the goal that secure passage into the CL Semis. Wayne Bridge, Happy Trails mate
Fern, you forgot to add Bridge's usurper to your list of mercenaries. I hope Bridge does exceptionally well there. I predict he's England's no. 1 for the next WC. Maybe he'll do a Le Saux and come back to us later. I'd love it.
The goal, one of the best attitudes around and a worldclass LB. A fantastic servant for the club. So much so that even in his departure he is helping the club. If the money we do get actually goes to the purchase of a player so that we never have to see Malouda in a blue shirt again......well, that's generosity that makes Mother Teresa look like The Grinch. Thank you for everything, sir!
All together now! FOLLOW FOLLOW FOLLOW THERE WAS ONLY TWO MINUTES TO GO IT WAS WAYNE BRIDGES GOAL THAT SENT US OUT OF CONTROL AND SENT THE ARSENAL OUT THE EURO OHHHHHHH WAYNE BRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDGE SCORED A ****ING GREAT GOAL IN THE HIGHBURY SHITE HOLE TWO MINS TO GOOOO
I miss seeing Bridgey play more than actually having him on the team. It's shocking he was never given a chance in 3 years. Model professional, fabulous player, and I can't wait to see him show his quality up north. So many people will see they were wrong. Good luck Wayne!
Dear_Claudio you are right before we got cashley cole we should have given bridgey a chance. he is so much better than cole the only good thing about cole is he is fast. but attacking and defencive wise he was better he could whip in a decent cross and can actually score goals the last 2/3 matches cashley has had 4 or 5 chances to score and has missed.
Fun player to watch(when he got his chance), really one of my personal favorites, will be missed along with so many well liked players replaced by lesser men. Man I wish we could have been happy with finding a backup for Wayne and not a replacement.
