...the sky is falling!!! it really is this time! Why is the bay area cursed with sh#itty owners lately? Some one call eddie d and tell him a franchise is available in bay area football. at least he would try to win games and not just sell tickets like our future owner. Thanks Johnny for the great years and for the class act. The club quake party and your speech will forever remain in my memories.
Hehe. That's cute Johnny! I'm going to miss your wife too! The two of you are good people! Your resignation is a huge loss for the Quakes. Dang I just don't know what to say. This is so hard. I'm crying again.
Don't want to invade any turf here, but this DC United fan wants to thank you, GM JM for bringing an exciting club to MLS these last two years. On a side note, we've got a new Coach and a new young player (you may have read about him), so why not a new GM? Can I interest you in a move to our nation's capital, Mr. Moore? Please?
I know you're a married man, but think about the interns in DC. They might not be the prettiest, but they get the job done.
In the current context, the word "GO" seems burdened by additional (negative) meanings. But in the spirit of Goodsport's typical exhortation, I'd like to say GO Earthquakes!!! GO Wee Man!!! We're rooting for you.
Johnny, nothing feels as good as the memories of a job well done, unless it is the memories of a job VERY WELL DONE!! Enjoy those memories of a job VERY WELL DONE indeed. Additionally, it looks good on the resume
Johnny - Thank *you* for the dedication you've shown and the results you've delivered. This is a sad occasion indeed. - Jeff
hey wee man why not get the old owner of the sf blackhawks to start up a new franchise in oakland? or anywhere in the bayarea for that matter. Please. I don't want anything to do with the quakes if the rumors are correct. I hope you continued success whereever you go wee man.
Thanks for everything Johnny. I appreciate everything that you've done for this club. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. This is a sad day indeed for Major League Soccer and the San Jose Earthquakes.
Johnny, I will never forget how cool, collected and confident you were the night before MLS Cup 2003. You are a rare sports exec who is equally at home with the coaches, the players and the fans. All the best to you and your family.
In all honesty and sincereity, I thank you for all of your hard work and time that you have devoted to this team. You have no idea what it is like for us fans to have a GM like you to lead us. You lead by example, and we followed. These last 2 seasons have been so wonderfull, there are no words to describe the joy that I have felt as a fan. You will be GREATLY missed Johnny. nobody will ever be able to "WOO HOO" like you could!
Question: WeeMan, I know you say your departure is for personal reasons and I respect that......but is your departure related to your roll with the Quakes future or the Quakes future plans in general?
Re: Re: Thank you You gotta bring more than that to the table, the man GM'd the Quakes to an MLS Cup title girl!
"We started to build a magical thing... a natural explosion of emotion you can't manufacture" JM. My family and I thank you for letting us be a small part of it. PS. I remember the game in the 70's at Spartan where you wore that " silly" head gear. Those games will also never be forgotten.
O.K. - Mr. W.M. : I think I just accepted the fact that you're gone , so after much pondering ( even remembered 1976 Whitesnake's "Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City", emes ) here's my best - ( very loudly ) We love you Johnny , or yes we do We love you Johnny , or yes we do We love you Johnny , or yes we do (louder) Johnny Moore WE DO LOVE YOU !!! ( Taking off my hat , and attempting to bow gracefully ) Thanks for the memories , Johnny , they will last forever,
Hilarious! I just found this, but... Remember what happened to the last guy who availed himself of their services (or at least the one we know most about).
Thanks Johnny for all the memories you gave us! You're missed already. No GM can possibly compare to you. What I will remember most about you is that you ALWAYS had a second to give the fans a smile or a wave. We were always as important to you as the team itself. For this, I will always have very fond memories of your time with the team! Best of luck to you wherever life takes you.
