France has no business being in this tournament. It's really an utter shame all around.

You do realize, just to irritate everyone, that France will somehow come up with a 4-0 over RSA, and Uruguay beats Mexico 2-0...and France moves on.

Judgements on the field by the referees stand, unless their is a clear misapplication of the rules. Im tired of this Ireland whining. France has been weak, but they advanced, get over it.

Although it's possible, I doubt it for two reasons.

First, because both Uruguay and Mexico want to avoid playing the Argies. If they draw, or if Mexico loses, Mexico will have to do it. They have a strong incentive to try to win it. Losing would also potentially cost them their advancement. I don't see either team, based on what we've seen so far, winning by two goals.

Next, you have SA. While not technically eliminated yet, odds are that they will be the first host country not to advance from the group phase. Their last chance to redeem themselves is to try to beat, or at least avoid being humiliated by, this awful French team.

If Mexico or Uruguay were to lose 2-1 or 1-0, and France were to win 3-0... Mexico would go through. Mexico is +4 on France in Goal differential (1st tiebreaker) and +3 on goals scored (second tieberaker).. and has the next tiebreakers on their side (head to head). Uruguay is +5 on France in GD and +3 on goals scored... with head to head being a tie. In short, France either has to destroy South Africa, or have one of the other two teams destroy their opponent to have any chance.

So yes you're right. France and South Africa's are in a terrible position.

This topic is better suited to the FIFA forum, as Group Stage forums are more specifically about game play. Furthermore, the point was raised in so aggressive and provocative a manner that I can't see this thread going anywhere useful. If folks really needed to vent after France got in, then they have had plenty of time to do that.
