" The club-owned stadium is named for its sponsor, a Canadian financial group."

I'm pretty sure TFC doesn't own BMO Field. I think it's the City of Toronto.

I think it's a partnership. co-owned between MLSE and Toronto.

No, BMO Field is 100% owned by the City of Toronto. MLSE is contracted to manage the facility.

Other than the stadium ownership issue, page looks great, kudos to you!

It might be worth editing it to say:

"A number of Canadian clubs compete in lower-level leagues but Toronto FC will clearly be the country's flagship team... at least until or unless efforts to have the Montréal Impact and Vancouver Whitecaps join MLS bear fruit over the next several years."

And just to clarify, BMO is short for Bank of Montréal.

*Nerroth makes an effort to resist saying how it makes him, a Habs fan, go grr at the thought of BMO sponsoring the accursed Maple Leafs...*

While U-Sector and the Red Patch Boys may be the largest and best know TFC supporters groups there are many others. The Yorkies, North End Elite and Tribal Rhythm Nation come immediately to mind. I think there are a few others.

I do believe the Ceilidh House Hoolies also fall under that too. got to meet them twice. Nice lil group from Hamilton, ON.

Thumbs up to the page. Very nicely done.
Oh well, when the Impact join MLS, in the not too distant future, maybe they can get Toronto-Dominion Bank as their jersey sponsor to balance things out.

    Just read it... Nice.

Small typo... Your last sentence, "It is owned by the city but managed my MLSE."

I think you mean, managed "by" MLSE.

I would also eliminate "Impact" and "Whitecaps", as I doubt that when Vancouver and/or Montreal got teams, they would be named the above. They will probably be brand new teams...

    Cheers

    Thanks for catching the typo.

Regarding the names, any other opinions on this? I would imagine the ownership groups of the current teams would be involved in any future MLS team and there's a chance they would keep the current name.

That would be quite the irony, I guess - but then, would Impact fans stick having TD as their team's sponsor?

Given how TFC fans seem to be fine with BMO on their club's jerseys, I guess.

(I should clarify that I have no problem with MO supporting Toronto FC. It's BMO supporting the Leafs which I don't like. Shame that you have to have one to have the other, but c'est la vie...)

There is a chance, but if you're a new reader and know nothing of this league/ownership, it reads as if that is the case for sure.. that the Whitecaps and Ipact will move to this league.. So I would say something along the lines of "until Vancouver and Montreal get their own teams into the league"

    Just my opinion
