This should not have been shut down, but it is a private school so they can do whatever they want. Didn't the young conservatives at UCLA do the same thing a while back?
I saw this on another message board. I don't see it as racist so much as an exercise in "the way things are". Compare it to those hunger dinners where everyone pays the same price, but only 2 people get a full steak dinner, 5 get a full vegetable dinner, and everyone else gets one cup of rice. It's been done on several other campuses without problems. The biggest problem I see is SMU students having less than a $50 bill to pay for the cookies with!
