Lucio just gave Inter the kiss of death http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3276/serie-a/2011/03/20/2403503/lucio-champions-league-final-is-inters-objective
Maybe because he didn't like the feeling of getting his ass kicked by a Russian team the last time they were in that competition......
Franck Ribéry: I messed up in my private life and in football http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/mar/21/franck-ribery-france-messed-up
Yeah, that's why I wanted him to take the 2nd vice-captaincy but I never really thought vG really liked him too much unlike the Dutch and the current captains. Hopefully the new coach appoints it to him, maybe he can regain a bit more form for next season.. just wish he would stop getting injured so much even though the 2nd half of the season he's been pretty good in this respect.
Yep. I can't f#cking stand the guy, but I cannot disagree with your comments. He has shown a better side of himself. Especially since the break.
It's also good from a business point of view. Japan has a great uprising football market and is growing fast as a country football-wise
I hope coupled with this maturity his performances will only get better. He's reaching the age where players play peak football and he's shown very small bits so far this season that he's returning. His assist rate is actually very impressive for someone who we know is better than what we're seeing now. What impressed me the most is his unwillingness to get into scuffles. You see him get fouled really badly, tackled from behind, studs up and he refuses to get caught in the emotion, stands up walks, away...in the past that was a different story. Good for him.
Bayern have had a good relationship with Japanese football in the last couple of years, good to see that continue.
I hope Frankie is dreaming about the Europa league every night, because he just might have to live it. Now that he's got the Froggie love back, when does he get his speed back? He invited many of those fouls because he stopped taking players on at speed. he felt some need to step on the ball and play some shielding game-within-a-game.
Maybe I missed it but I didn't see it announced here before. Audi Cup at the end of July will include Milan, Barcelona and Internacional (Porto Alegre).
LOL! Ain't that the truth. Arse kicking they did! We coached, well stocked (with players), great and deserved run from Zenit. Bayern were running out their luck and hit a massive dose of reality that season. It was fun while it lasted. I will never forget the last minute goal from Toni in the quarterfinals. Sometimes, as some of us know, it takes hitting rock bottom sober one up. I am glad that Franck has taken the approach of self-reflection rather than deflection. It shows he is human afterall and seem genuinely gracious for his 2nd chance on many levels... personally, professional, club, country, etc. I think it is still much to early. I do think he is a potential leader but the stink is still on him so to speak. He needs to simply focus on his fussballing, and only that. Being captain is an added chore that sometimes can take away from your play.... (ie. Philip Lahm to some extent) His play has been impressive. I am happy for him, however, regarding the above... I agree, I see the same things... I however still see the "fire" in him when he first gets up and the ability for him to 'snap' is somewhat still concerning for me personally. His anger management coach needs a pay raise for all his work!!!
That is confirmed ?? If it is, would be awesome !!! I'll be in Germany in that period. The guys that live in Germany can tell if the tickets for the Audi Cup can be bought easily ??
He's at Flamengo, Internacional has Bundesliga alumni Tinga and Ze Roberto (Schalke reject, not Bayern/Bayer legend)
