Im still stunned by his goal last week.

Considering the players in the Eng NT pool, this kid could possibly be called up. I mean, Kalvin Phillips, Cole Palmer [he's been good, but hes also young], Jordan Henderson [will probably still get called up for experience]. There's room for him.

I know no one here would want him called up, but its inevitable at this point.

I am as cursed with being an England fan as I am a United fan having been indoctrinated into both so young.

So would love him to be called up. Him and Rice in midfield would be as solid as it is progressive - both able to play #6 & #8 and both able to properly defend as well as contribute to the attack.

Still probably be wasted by Southgate though :)

Ill be honest, I wouldnt have any hope. Im sure you're aware of the corruption and carelessness that goes on in Ghana, Nigeria and other former power houses from West Africa. No up and coming talent will chose to play for these places over big Euro teams.

At best you get a Prince Boateng type of guy, who wasnt good enough for Germany.

With the money being stripped by greedy people, you have to worry if your ********ing plane will crash on the way to matches, let alone if you'll get paid.

With the rest of the team panicking and giving the ball away yesterday, our only player who showed composure and good decision making was 18 year old Kobbie Mainoo (and maybe 36 yo sub Jonny Evans).

When he gets 5 more years EPL experience and physical development …. he will still only be 23 - let that sink in :)

His levels at this age and how much better he has been than Mount, Amrabat, McTominay is unreal.

    Southgate bowing to the inevitable.

That he can play #6, #8 and even #10 at a push makes him very flexible from a squad point of view.

His press resistance and two-footed dribbling key to that plus he somehow reads the game like someone 10 years more experienced.

If he can handle the crazy Man Utd circus then the England circus something he can take in his stride too.

Some of his dribbles to beat the press against Pool were insane. Even crazier when you think about it being out of a kid that's playing his 15th or so senior game. I have to keep saying it...build the midfield around this kid.

i'm not a fan of this. he's already played more games than i'd like with United and now there could be even more games added.

then again he may not play at all with Southgate's favouritism but he has enough on his plate trying to fit into a non-functional side. he doesn't need the additional distraction and at 18 there is no rush

Unlikely he plays. Still, good experience for him.

The more I watch him, the more it’s clear he should be played as an 8 and not as a 6. He’s too good on the ball, too good on the dribble, and too good in the final 3rd to limit him by playing him as a 6. Bring in a proper energetic 6 that can cover ground and is decent in possession and fully unlock Mainoo.
